Driving through a blizzard into the woods of Norwalk to celebrate my wife’s birthday we arrived safely. However the table was nice, I expected more for $100 a person. First the menu was very limited. No meat dish except a cheeseburger? The service was not up the the standard and very inattentive. Clearing the dirty dishes took forever. Then our waiter just disappeared. Not to be repeated!
Three of us went for lunch last Thursday, and were thrilled as our guest thought the renovation and location were as beautiful as we had said. Sadly our meal did not match up, and we were very disappointed with the food. I have to say, Iberico ham is a huge favorite of mine, and when the appetizer arrived, the ham had been removed from the sealed packaging, the ham was not even fanned, just served as a solid block, and was cold and hard. This ham needs gentle handling and serving at not quite room temperature to enable the fat to prove. What a huge injustice to what should be a delicious delicacy. The burgers that were ordered, were just plain goopy, and heavy, they felt clumsy in preparation and presentation. We decided to pass on dessert, as we were all feeling a little let down. The service was good, and the glass dividers between tables work brilliantly, but what a disappointing luncheon. In retrospect we should have mentioned all this at the time, but having a guest with us, really made us want to keep the whole thing more upbeat.

Had a delightful brunch at Tavern at Graybarns. Enjoyed great food, service and ambience at the tavern.. Service from the valet, hostess, bar tender and servers was outstanding. Food presentation was first rate and while portions were small the food was delicious! Looking forward to coming back soon.
