Fantastic location to all area’s around Yale. Walkable to little Italy. Room was beautifully appointed. Large area for cooking and fridge. Front desk was helpful and nice. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the New Haven area
A quick trip to New Haven but we will try to get back there soon! Our stay at The Blake was wonderful and relaxing. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are beyond wonderful- friendly, helpful, and just pretty awesome!
This is a gorgeous hotel with a beautiful and stylish lobby, roof top restaurant and rooms. It's close to downtown New Haven and fun things to do. It was impeccably clean. The reason I am giving it a poor rating, however, is that it was very understaffed, the elevator was broken and the air conditioning unit was so loud I couldn't sleep. While the aesthetics were amazing, the basic needs were lacking.
Family trip during hot CT summer. The hotel is well equipped with AC so our stay was very comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a great bar on the first floor and a rooftop area. The hotel is a few blocks from Yale, so perfect for parents visiting their kids. Near great restaurants and shops. We highly recommend The Blake.
Perfect in every respect. Staff is cordial, helpful, responsive. Convenient. Rooms comfortable and well equipped. Cant recommend too highly. It is great to have such a consistently friendly business hotel!
It's a beautiful, clean hotel with large rooms, but the service and amenities are lacking. Nice that the bring you coffee in the morning, but it is terrible. There is no room service, the staff is indifferent, the toilet paper is cheap, the mattresses are sagging, and the towels are rough.
Our room's air conditioner was not working. We checked in at 6:30 & let it run until 8:30 to make sure it wasn't working correctly. We reported that it needed to be fixed as we left for dinner at 8:30. We returned at 10:30 to no update & no indication of repair & spent the night in an unbearably hot room because the air conditioning was still not working. In the morning, we requested a manager to file a complaint. The manager on duty knew nothing about the issue, claimed we didn't know how to operate it & said she would look into it. At check-out, we were told our issues & story were correct & an adjustment would be made. The adjustment of $30 off & waiving the valet fee was unacceptable. We paid $300+ for a top quality hotel room for my wife's birthday that had NO air conditioning in a room with no windows that could be opened in end-July with the temperature in the high 80's & humid. We didn't receive what we paid for & think the credits issued were ridiculously low.
We had a lovely time at the Blake Hotel and especially enjoyed the aesthetic of the hotel rooms and the lobby. We are suckers for mid-century modern. Highly recommend for a luxe feeling yet comfortable stay.
Everything is top of the line! Decoration, facilities, rooms, and personnel! Fresh Coffee delivered to the room before our departure. Also has Valet Parking if you have a car. Great place to feel at home.
We had a wonderful time here. I was blown away at the beautiful lobby and room. The hotel bar and rooftop bar were beautiful as well. The best part of the stay was the staff. Everyone was so nice, but especially the bartender Ryan. What an awesome human. We will be back!
