Good food and adequate service. Prices were reasonable considering its location so close to Yale. Expect all dishes on the menu to be moderately spicy, so be sure to ask about the spice level if you have any issues with spice. I recommend the butter chicken shared plate and the iced chai tea latte. If you're looking for some Indian food with a pleasant environment and adequate service, this is the place to go in New Haven.
Amazing Indian street food restaurant, they have ensured that the taste of Indian flavors stay intact.I would recommend Indian food lovers to visit this place if you are in and around Yale University or specially go there to try out their stuff.
I already enjoy Indian food, but Sherkaan brings it to a whole new level! Their menu is creative, with a mix of traditional dishes, and everything that we had was done very well. Butter chicken with garlic naan is my usual go-to, and Sherkaan’s is my new favorite! The Hakka noodles and ribs were fantastic as well. My boyfriend enjoyed his cocktail, and next time we’re totally getting the one with the tiger on top! Sherkaan is definitely my new favorite spot for Indian food.
Good ambience and service.Place is neat and less crowded. Is it authentic Indian food? Definitely not.Never have I ever paid extra for sambar to eat Dosa at any Indian restaurant.
I ate here twice while in town for Yale graduation. The Palak Paneer was amazing! That is actually what brought me back the second time. I highly recommend trying that, which I think paired nicely with the green chile stuffed naam (if you like spicy). I also had the Vada Pav Sliders. I was not a fan of these, but others who tried them seemed to really enjoy them. I'm guessing that I was an exception in that case. The service I had was decent, but not exceptional. I was seated at the bar both times, and was not engaged much by the bartenders. Granted, the first night, the barback and I chatted a bit, but the gentleman who took my order seemed to barely acknowledge me. The second night, the service from the bartender was much better, and she was quite engaging, though it took a bit for that to occur. I'll chalk it up to having had a super busy weekend with all that was going on in relation to the graduations from Yale. All in all, I would eat here again, if for no other reason than the palak paneer, because it was that delicious! The staff seemed friendly as well. Again, I assume that the graduation took a lot out of the locals that weekend, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on the service spectrum.
Indo- Chinese pork ribs are absolutely incredible
Delicious and interesting menu! Friendly service!
Excellent food and service. We had a few items, and all were very good. The Masala Dosa was excellent. A large selection of unique cocktails. These are better than most bars. Must try the Bindass Burns. Totally Bindass. (Originally, cool and carefree, not worrying too much about anything. In a wider sense, used generally as an adjective of approval; good, excellent, first-class...)
Beautiful experience. Amazing food and drinks ?
Me and family went to this place excited for having Indian food, and it proved to be a total disappointment. We ordered masala dosa, seek kabab and butter chicken. Definitely the chef does not know a thing about Indian cooking. It was a complete mess. Would not go back neither suggest anyone to waste their money.Overall, Ambiance 10/10, Customer Service 8/10, Food 1/10.
