Would be a nice place to hang out but not very accommodating. Bartender with the red beard was extremely rude. I was disappointed that he did would not allow the second tv (that nobody was watching) to show the PGA championship while the NHL playoff game was going on at the same time. His curt response was “we’re not a sports bar, movie on this side and sports on this side”. Silly rule just to ruin my experience. How can anyone even watch a movie with no subtitles? Management should get rid of this guy and relax a little. You’re in a college town dude…
very rude male bartender and prices really went up for low quality food. felt like i was being robbed after i paid $20 for fries and a coke after tip. like what? i won’t be back
Great food, great drinks, super friendly bartender, fun atmosphere.
Could be much better than it is...the atmosphere is nice and placement to campus is very good. The bartender had no personality and was not my cup of tea. The beer selection was minimal and the one I ordered was out of rotation. The beers were subject to pricing of what ever the bartender deemed and not what was posted.
Ok as a bar disappoints as restaurant. No waiter service, order food and beer at bar. Want some water?- get it yourself at end of bar. Long time for order to arrive and place wasn’t too busy; I wonder if bartenders are overworked in dual roles as bartender and servers. As a beer bar it’s fine with good selection at decent prices, but for food set your expectations at a basic level to avoid disappointment. Or just drink a lot of beer….
Rudy's used to be a place I went in the 80's & 90's, now relocated in the same area, I was surprised how good it was! Great happy hour, excellent food, and friendly bartenders! My wife and I had burgers cooked perfectly, they came with fries with a choice of about 10 dipping sauces, different than your average ketchup. Great to see this pub is still around, we will be back!
Very rude bartender, never spoke, when I asked for a menu he threw a barcode down said to use my phone. I used to be a regular here but easy to see why I was the only person in the place. Good luck and I myself have been a bartender for 30+ years!!
Nice bar, great food, great atmosphere. Never been here before but it's self seating and you order food from the bar. Good time.

Over all the years I've lived in new Haven I've been here a number of times. Each and every time i go here, always at the behest of a friend, they get something wrong. I'll give the place some credit, it has a good location. After that it's awful. It stinks, especially in the summer. There are always flies buzzing around, especially by the bar. No matter what i order, they get it wrong. I've been for brunch and they completely over cooked my eggs, I've been for lunch and no matter what temperature i asked for my burger to be out always came back as something else. I went again the other day and ordered fries thinking they couldn't get that wrong. It took them about 30 minutes for my fries to get to me. When they arrived they were cold, not warm, not lukewarm actually cold. I had to send them back. It took another ten minutes to get an order that was lukewarm. Pathetic.
