I must preface this by staring we already had ridden about 150 miles from Boston when we arrived. We felt amazed by this place. The atmosphere is fantastic. Kitschy in a nice way, borderline overdressed, but comfortable. We ordered an omelet and toast. Both tasted great. They were out of OJ and the latte is ok. I will return (this time without the bike) to further explore de menu. BTW: the experience with online ordering system was not very positive. I ended up ordering at the cashier.
I needed coffee for a late evening drive last night from New Haven to Bucks County, PA. They were open til 11 pm so I got a double espresso and a large cup of Joe. I had to have the walnut and pistachio baklava which turned out to be slices of heaven. The young woman who helped me was a charm and the radio collection was way too cool. Neat place with great coffee, sweets, and employee!
Had an absolutely amazing Eid brunch today! Simply the most scrumptious array of savory dishes, sweets and coffee. Everything I have eaten here has been just delicious.
A refuge where one can enjoy unique desserts, including pistachio ricotta cake, extraordinary pistachio and cardamom lattes, the best macaroons I have ever tasted, soothing and whimsical decor with vintage soft couches and chairs, and a most attentive and genteel staff who knows and loves the food they offer. Worth the hour drive every time. We took many treats back to our friends and family.
Great food and atmosphere!
Best baklavas I had in my life. There are also other options like cakes and macarons if you don’t like baklavas
I'd been meaning to come to this place for a while and was not disappointed when I finally managed it. The ambiance is unique and eclectic, with a regal, 1920-s feel to it. They have great Turkish and Syrian coffee, and really good, dense pistachio baklava. They have a full menu/dining area as well as an area for coffee and pastries. It's a fun way to spend an afternoon, especially since they're open much later than the other coffeeshops in the area. Service was slightly slow, but not so slow as to hold up anything. Everyone here is super friendly and is full of both undergrads (it's close to Southern Connecticut State University) and long-time locals.
Truly splendid cafe in the New Haven area serving tons of Levantine favorites. Their seating area is divided in two, one portion has tables where people can sit with laptops to do work and the other portion is for more casual dining and chatting (no laptops allowed), which is really nice because it gives space for different vibes to coexist in the same cafe. The layout and the decor are wonderful (didn’t get a chance to take photos but will update this review in the future). As for food, their Zaatar Panini was really tasty, their shawarma wrap flavorful, and their lattes well balanced. All meat items are halal. The owner is really kind, approachable, and generally strives to provide a great customer experience. I will definitely be back!
I was so disappointed ?. I've been following this cafe on my Instagram for several months. Drooling over all their post and tasty looking dessert. I have been looking forward to visiting. Today I finally got in my car with my daughter and headed to get some coffee and a dessert. None of the things I've seen on IG were available except for the macaroons and I don't like those no matter who makes them. I went with a banana muffin my daughter got the carrot cake as it's her favorite. I cried when I got home and tasted my dessert. It's dry dense and taste nothing like banana so either the cashier didn't know what it was and gave me the wrong flavor or someone used flavorless bananas. The carrot cake is a little more moist but again doesn't taste like carrots rather spice and the frosting was hard and dry and had an overwhelming taste of citrus. The decor is nice the people are friendly but I'm sorry my dessert tasted like it wasn't fresh and I spent 25 dollars. I expect that from dunkin donut not from an establishment that spends so much time and effort showing beautiful desserts.
We had an awesome brunch here. They had a wide assortment of coffee including Syrian and Turkish coffee, and sweets! Baklava and cakes. The decor was also very regal and loved hanging out here.
