I usually go here every single time I'm in New Haven. Lately I haven't been in a while, almost two years. The food in my experience is some of the best food I've ever eaten, and that's mto an exaggeration. You can literally taste the love and care that is put into the food. I got jerk tofu, brown bits, and curry chic peas with rice and beans. Heavenly, I can't recommend this place enough. The only disappointing part was they were only available for curb side pick up. Hoping that they open up their doors soon so that the community can see the lovely people that run this place. Looking forward to the next time, keep up the good work guys :)
Mac and cheese taste like elbow mixed with mayo and nutritional yeast.Curry tofu not bad i’ll give 7 out of 10 score. Curry powder lots of flour and firm tofu that’s it.Yams ... Why are the yams cubed and mimicking cubed tofu is beyond me. All of these sweet potatoe cubed yams. I will see if my dog wants iit. My dad side is from North Carolina and mother side straight islander. Disappointed! 30 dollars.I support my black people business though!But please do better!!!!
Delicious and wholesome. It's the kind of food that someone who cares about you would make for you: it tastes amazing but is also sustaining and nourishing. Favorites were the jerk tofu (!!!), sweet potatoes, and plantains, but pretty much everything was great. The Beyond patty was also a nice treat. Portions are generous. We're just visiting the area for the night but we're definitely coming again the next time we're in CT.
Heard someone mention this vegan place on the Yale shuttle and decided to try! It was my first time having Caribbean style food and I really like the Jerk Tofu and Banana Bread! ?
This place rocks. AMAZING food, big portions, low prices, friendly service. Love it.
So a friend of mine told me about this place since I’m changing my eating habits. I am also Caribbean and I’m always looking for vegan or vegetarian Caribbean food. This spot was prefect. The food was delicious I did not noticed the difference between it and other restaurant food. Management and staff are super friendly.
I had a small plate - jerk tofu, curried chickpeas, and green beans. All were very warm and wonderful! It’s way more tastier than it looks in the picture?
Bombbbbbb. The food is amazing and flavorful. They were out of Mac and rice and peas when we went but I'm glad because everything else we got was fantastic. Highly recommend splitting a large plate with another person, it's the perfect size to share for a great price and you get a nice sampler size taste of a bunch of delicious sides. Will be back no question
Waited an hour and a half for my food and when questioned about why it was taking so long they had no reason. There was about 3 frustrated customers outside waiting for their food and the staff inside were just talking and basically ignoring us. Not even an apology for having us wait so long. Food was delicious but NOT worth the wait at all. Will not go again.
The projected time was longer than the actual time so that was a bonus! plus the food is always delicious. thank you!!!
