The ramen here is as advertised. I asked for extra cha shu, menma, egg, corn and seaweed. The soup is rich and delicious. Really glad that New Haven has this gem of a restaurant.Update:Made a second visit here. I basically ordered the same thing. Love it here. Wish portions were bigger, but still delicious.
We stopped at the New Haven Mecha for the first time since we were in the area, though we usually visit the Fairfield location. Their new seasonal specials grabbed us, one of them being the crispy coconut shrimp bao. It was good and we would definitely order it again! I do think the quality of the food in Fairfield has the New Haven location beat - one side of the KFC Bao I ordered wasn’t soft anymore, like it had sat out for a bit too long. I’m used to the Fairfield Mecha being busy, but we were sat right near the door in New Haven, and people waiting for their table were practically on top of us.
Can I say hip? Music constantly playing at a decent volume very active crowd mostly college students.Our service was great our server was wonderful.Our pho was hot and fresh and tasty, the drinks actually contain this thing called alcohol ?I got the chicken and the added tofu my wife got the sizzle which had pieces of steak.Overall, nice place, good food, great atmosphere. Keep up the good work.
We had it exactly 40 minutes before our show at the Shubert started when we entered this crowded location but the hostess reassured us she’d have us in and out, full and happy, on time for the show. She delivered in spades. Our snappy attendant Louis stepped right up the minute we sat down in the open air intimate seating dining area. We needed some education regarding some of the offerings and he was only too happy to help out and make suggestions. Extremely friendly and a pleasure to deal with. We both opted for a Pho offering, with minor meat variation between our choices— we were both blown away by the incredible flavors, the tender meat and delicious noodles and lots of it, easily enough for two or three meals each, at about $12 A bowl. A virtual steal! We also had an order of the pan fried red oil dumplings, a pork/shrimp/beef mixture held in place with a crispy Paperthin crunchy coating— The taste was so impressive, the dipping sauce wasn’t required. I stuck to water but my daughter opted for the papaya/pineapple Boba drink which was as flavorful as it was unique to us. Just marvelous. Sat, orders taken, meals served, meal eaten, out the door all in about 30 minutes. Bonus, it was terrific! Would highly recommend
We loved the KFC bun - the pickled radish and carrots worked really well with the chicken and the spicy mayo was a great pairing too.I didn’t really like the general tsos shrimp because the sauce tasted like sweet chili sauce. The tonkatsu broth was good - I loved the tea egg it was so soft and melts in your mouth. The noodles were not my preference and a bit overcooked but it was still pretty good. The interior is also really pretty but I was a bit confused why there was Chinese designs for a Japanese and Vietnamese restaurant. The service was also really great.[food insta: @strwbrrryboba :)]
Came here on Valentine’s Day was originally gonna go across the street to noodle shack but it was empty and seen this place our first time at a noodle spot and we had a great experience deff made my girl happy thank you
My favorite spot hands down! The Ramen bowl was so delicious I think about it all the time! Also loved the saki flight getting to try a bunch of kinds was great since I'm not super familiar with saki. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable! I wish I could remember his name because he made the experience 10x better! We sat at the bar, must try bubbly tea was my 1st time it was super interesting and unique! 10 out of 10 recommend!
I took my 4 kids here after going to an escape room and they were a little unsure since they have not eaten Vietnamese before, but the staff was great, and everyone had a delicious meal. Food was very good, and the menu explained what each meal was along with recommendations. Looking forward to coming back next time we are in town
I don't have to say much to say how great a food spot this is! Simply put, amazing customer service and flavorful food options. We ordered dumplings, BAO buns, chicken wings and three different ramen bowls and it was all delicious down to the last bite (that we brought home in to go containers!). The space is small but we managed three adults and twin babies. Staff was accommodating and gave us a spot to stick the stroller while we enjoyed our food. We will be back for more!
This restaurant is absolutely wonderful! There's always some sort of wait for a table but it's completely worth it. The drinks are tasty, the food is beyond delicious and the service is top quality. I'm always recommending people to go here!!
