Had a horrible experience at Libby’s the other day. I came in with my friend at about 8:40pm after we just finished eating a fabulous dinner down the road. Slightly busy inside but nothing crazy and when it was our turn to order they started turning the lights off just as we were about to order! How am I supposed to see what I want if you have all the lights turned off?!! On top of that the young girl who took our order was extremely pushy and rude. I simply asked for 1lb of Italian cookie assortments and she replies with “I don’t know what that is” Are you kidding me?!! I also got 2 linzer tarts and 2 cannoli’s. Grand total was $30. Very overpriced for the quality of this bakery. Cookies were extremely bland and just crumbled apart when I tried to take a bite. The linzer tarts were the only decent thing they had there. I do not recommend going here it’s overhyped & overpriced! On top of that the young staff that work there are extremely impatient & rude!
The almond horns are great, and the Italian ice hits just right on a hot summer day. Great spot to get dessert after grabbing dinner.

Had a sweet tooth after dinner so decided to check this place out. The gelato was creamy and delicious. I tried the peanut butter flavor. They were out of the cappuccino flavor, but would love to try that next time. Also had a good list of Italian ice flavors. We got an assortment of cookies that were all delicious. My favorite were the yellow ones dipped in chocolate. Also took home pistachio cannolis for our moms.
Could be the pastry shop in CT, however, younger staff is never patient and is very pushy with customers. Have been coming here for the better part of 10 years and used to love my encounters and experiences within this shop. A lot has changed over time: any time you go in now you’re rushed to make a decision by younger staff who has no problem rolling their eyes at you or making you feel uncomfortable. When you’re a pastry shop that normally carries over 50 items, you should expect to have people look at what you have. Went in excited and ready to buy over $100 worth of pastries for a party, but after the way I was treated by the staff, cut my order down to $10 worth of goods. Used to love taking weekend trips to new haven specifically for these pastries, but I could likely find a place that treats their customers better more closer to my hometown.
Love the pastries. However customer service sucks. I came in on lunch with coworkers from the hosp and no eye contact. Young lady was sick and coughing and not covering her mouth. This was at 5pm. I literally came here 3 times and the customer service was dull not to mention my order was messed up. Ill go else where for cannolis. And will not have them cater our private event
Cannoli, get all the cannoli. The quality is top shelf, the filling has the right consistency and density and just a hint of lemon. I don't know if they're the best I've ever had but I've never had better
AMAZING!!! Awesome as always. Miss the old set-up but a treat any time of the year after a bite of pizza. Get the Easter pastries this kind of year! I always order the vanilla with nuts or coconut Italian ice, a 1/4 lbs of cookies (raspberry thumbprint and white chocolate covered apricot,) a few pignioli, some almond cookies to go with a good cup of coffee and a lobster tail pastry. A few times a year? REPEAT!! Stellar experience every time. Oh and splurge for the 3 scoop cup. It saves on the mess, and while I love the authenticity of genuine paper cups, the (yes, i know Styrofoam is TERRIBLE for the environment,) 3-scoop is best value. Definitely a must try, repeat, and make a habit out of it for yourself or the family ?
First time here today and I will definitely be back and with more family members… also want to try out more of their pastries… we had the Italian ice and it was very delicious ?
