Typical diner food. Been comin off & on for a few decades. It's best when your at least a lil tipsy after a night out lol, but what diners aren't? ? This time around I was just bailing my daughter out of forgetting her wallet, & the staff was kind enough to wait for me ??‍♀️??‍♀️?? so 4 stars for being good sports. ??

The old lady that takes your payment is very disrespectful. She sits and talks to people while you stand there waiting to pay. She likes to snatch receipts from peoples hands. Real bad racist attitude.

This was my third try late at night to find someplace to have a cup of coffee and a piece of pie or a cheeseburger. Google showed three 24-hour diners within about a 10 minute drive of each other in this area. All 3 were actually not open 24 hours. Please update your listings on Google to reflect the true availability of services late at night. This one was at least open, but only providing takeout. Not really a diner experience.

The first time I ordered from here, I ordered a chicken salad wrap. When I brought my food home it was 100% a tuna wrap. They claimed they “tried to call me” but I never got a phone call. As someone who has worked years in food service, wouldn’t you swap chicken salad for a different wrap containing chicken instead incase someone has an allergy or highly dislikes tuna? I decided to try this place one more time because it’s the only diner around and I regret it. I ordered a chicken souvlaki sandwich (see pictured) It was COVERED in grease and had cooked diced tomatoes and peppers on it…souvlaki has cold lettuce and cold tomatoes, not greasy sautéed peppers and tomatoes. Along with that, the tzatziki sauce cup was inside the container and it was so hot from the food it curdled and almost exploded everywhere. Never ordering here again I have no idea how the reviews are so high for this place.

Hands down and forks up the best diner in New Haven.

Cody's is not how it used to be back in the day unfortunately. My food was sub-par. I've eaten in and had take out. They are convenient because it's one of the only late night/all night eating spots on that side of town. I only go here because of necessity, not really by choice.

Always great…food and prices. The service is old school. They love their customers

Will not come back to this place. I wouldn’t go if I were you. All out original American Fare. The problem was the hostess. Apparently it is the owners mother and she has a nasty attitude. When I walked in the door she looked at me and went on about her business so I sat my self and was greeted by a wonderful and nice waitress that happily took my To go order. When I went to the front register to pay the hostess told me, “you are gonna have to wait a minute.” Then she proceeded to walk off. After she came back she took my credit card payment and slammed my receipt down on the table without me signing it and said, “you are all set.” I asked her I would like to leave the waitress a tip and sign the receipt. The lady sighed and huffed and puffed and said, “Oh MY GOD.” Then handed me the receipt and a pen. I signed the receipt and left a tip and then she walked away from me. I told the waitress that she is very rude and needs to learn some customer service and the waitress told me that she is just that way and she doesn’t care. I handed the waitress the receipt and left. This person working here, mother of the owner, has a very low morale towards her job. She needs to retire or something because she doesn’t care about the customers. When I go out, I expect to have a great experience with the people and enjoy. So I will not be coming back to this place. I don’t even want my money back. You can keep it.

very clean. friendly and quick service. Food Is delicious. however you need to alllow customers to tip your servers via credit card transaction. people dont carry cash as much anymore. its a bit unfair to your employees.

No-frills diner that stands by itself in a little commercial area of the city. It may seem small but it actually accommodates a decent amount of people. Super clean and the staff is very friendly. Owner seems to be on site frequently. Food is good, but menu seems slightly limited. I'm new to the area so it could be a product of the pandemic. It's a great option for late night eating since it seems to be one of the few places open past midnight.
