Best pizza place in New Haven. The staff are all very friendly and great at their jobs - they check on you enough that you're not in need of anything, but they are also not overbearing. Great selection of beers, especially their brewed-in-house selections. Last but by no means least, the pizzas are amazing. Whether you're getting a brunch pizza with eggs (on Sundays), one of their famous Tuesday mashups with Olmo (mac & cheese, chicken tikka masala, among others), or a simple red pie with mozzarella, you will not be disappointed. Keep an eye out for seasonal specials, such as lobster and brisket (not necessarily together, but hey, you do you).
A nice first time experience. The pizza was phenomenal! We had the mashed potato & bacon! I was skeptical , but it was Amazing! Our waiter was polite and friendly which goes a long way when visiting a restaurant.
The pizza's terrific. The female support staff on hand, however, was very rude and discourteous.I respect the fact that space is limited, paying customers wanting to enjoy the experience shouldn't be made to feel like they - and their food selections - are taking up space, or rushed through their meals.Though the BAR pizza menu is legendary in our city, being treated like prized cattle left a bad taste in my mouth.
good food very friendly service
Go on the weekend to get eggs on your pizza! Red sauce, mozz, bacon, eggs, spinach, and roasted red pepper highly recommended! (As are their signatures: mashed potato; bbq brisket, and portrait! Yum!)
We got there around 5:30 on a Saturday. There was no wait to sit at the bar. The drinks were great. And though we didn't have any ourselves, the Pizza looked of high quality New Haven standard. Definitely a solid spot to stop for pizza, cocktails and beer.
First time for us, we were greeted and gave our name and went to the bar. We were lucky enough to find 2 seats at the bar and decided to order and eat our pizza there. OMG the margaritas were outstanding. Thank you to our bartenders. We ordered the mashed potatoes and bacon pizza white and a mushroom n hot pepper so so delicious. Everything perfect We will be back.
GREAT pizza, even if it's pricey. Service was excellent.
Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Very welcoming, laid back environment. They have a very casual side with a bar and pool table and a slightly less casual side with a bar and a bunch of tables and booths (pic is of the latter). Service was great and they brew their own beers, but we're all here for the pizza.Their pizza holds up to the New Haven greats, but in a very different way. We got their clams casino, BBQ brisket, and mozzarella and pepperoni pies. Pepperoni was good, but not the highlight. Clams casino and BBQ brisket were both amazing and the reason they can hang with Pepes, Sally's, and Modern. Will be back to try some of their other specialties including the mashed potatoes and bacon.
Excellent pizza. Thin crust and quality ingredients. Beer was great.
