We came here for lunch after a visit to the New Britain Museum of Art. 2 pm-ish on a Saturday, our party of 3 had to wait for a little while (20 minutes?) but once we were seated, it was a lovely and delicious afternoon. We loved everything! Pickle soup, pierogies, potato pancake, a stuffed pork loin and a sampler of Polish favorites. I am inspired to try to make some of this at home! There is a big Polish market right across the street if you want to try some at home. We really liked this place and would definitely go back. Nice, homey atmosphere and delicious food, what could be better! (and, reasonable prices!)

This modest restaurant offers a solid lunch with no frills. It was a busy lunch time for a Tuesday with even more patrons coming in at 2 PM. We had perogeris. Several types were offered with the mushroom mix being very tasty. For some strange reason, your limited to four of each type. Why? The entire portion was eight large pieces, all very nice and covered in an additional yummy onion sauce. We had leftovers for later. Service is somewhat distant but orderly with no follow-up as to anything more? We have been here a number of times and the food offerings are very consistent and tasty. We will return again.

We went there because it was recommended and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent beer was good and the perogies were delicious. Felt like a family home cooking type place and all of us will come back. We drove about 50 mins to get there and it was well worth it. Happy customer Scott & Stephanie Smith

I keep forgetting that New Britain has a big Polish community, but when my family and I was in the area over the weekend, we decided to try this placed based on good recommendations. The seating area can get a bit crowded because it's not that big, but it's also a testament to the genuineness of the food that there were so many people here from the local community. The staff were friendly and helped us with unfamiliar terms, and everything was freshly prepared. I love borsht, and while this restaurant's borsht wasn't as fancy as Russian borsht (it only had broth and meat dumplings), it was still good, albeit with a slightly more sour/vinegary taste that I'm accustomed to with borsht. The pierogi were good - you can get them with a variety of fillings.

Rude and unprofessional customer service with attitude. We are very disappointed , won't be returning. I would prefer to spend my money with a pleasant service and good ,fresh food.

The food was ok but tried to use a gift card given to me prior the covid ( In January 2020 ) I called two times to see if they would still honor it ( had an expiration date of May 15 2020 ) on the second call one of the employees ( Maggie )conferred with someone in the restaurant and the answer was yes it will be honored Well my wife and I went there today and the owner ( husband ) said no . I explained all the background info that I was given an ok to come and due to Covid and all - they made me feel as if I was stealing from them - he says " be nice or I will say no - which he already did - so he calls his wife - co-owner and she puts me through the third degree - who gave me the card -who did i call - they ( other employee ) have no right to say ok ,and on and on - Finally I said either except the card or not ,quit badgering me . they conferred for another 10 minutes ( all for a $25.00 card ) and scolded me before saying ok this time - like ,don't do it again ,you bad boy . We are 80 years young - never - ever again will we go there let me say it again " never ever again

My wife and I stopped in Staropolska for an early Saturday dinner after visiting the New Britain Museum of Art and found this hidden gem that serviced authentic Polish food that a great price. The service was very good with the servicer recommending dishes to try if we were not familiar with the food. She recommended the Polish platter since it offered a wide selection of Polish food and she was spot on! In addition, my wife had the Tripe soup and I had the Red Borscht soup as appetizers and both were delicious. The dining area is small and noisy so a first date dinner could be challenging. We will definitely return for dinner with our friends in the future but will make reservations first on weekends. When we left about 6PM, there were at least three to four couples waiting for tables.

Great choice of Polish foods and beer. Service very good. Worth the hour and 15 minute drive for us!

One of my favorite places to eat.

Small, Clean surroundings but BIG on Taste and Outstanding Polish Food. Efficient and friendly service. Fried Cheese Pierogi ( $11.95) was mouthwatering great. Potato Pancakes, with sour cream and applesauce ( $10.95) were some of best that I have ever tasted. Total Bill: $24,58 with tip $31.58 and well worth it. I will most definitely be returning and highly recommend.
