My wife and I decided to take our young dog on his first long road trip to a dog friendly town(which mildford most certainly is, including Hair of the Dog). Our first night after a 7 hr drive, we walked the .75 mi and it began to rain as soon as our waters came out which is just one of those things. However, we did witness some of the sandwiches coming out to the patio just before the rain and they looked phenomenal so we decided to try again Saturday night when it was clear. We arrived, found a patio table and promptly put up our umbrella. The reason for the lower rating is because while we waited for our server, my wife noticed a goofball diameter size patch of biting bugs(that hadn't started biting yet) on my leg as well as a full swarming of our dog. We both still want to go back but we had to leave immediately. Just be wary, those biting gnat/no-see-ums are the devil. This isn't a knock on the restaurant, just a warning to future tourists. Inside is probably better. Sorry....

Don't let the prices fool you, the portion sizes are massive. You get your money's worth easy! I had a burger that was massive and came with a bunch of very large cut waffle fries. Worth it!
We finally got to try Hair of the Dog and it was even better than I imagined. The layout of the space was great and the decor was really fun. It was a very comfortable and open space with a hip neighborhood vibe. The music was remarkably good. The service was warm and attentive. And the food was excellent!! We started with the Bavarian pretzel. I loved the smoky bacon horseradish remoulade dipping sauce. We had the Buffalo crispy chicken wrap, which was very good; the mahi-mahi fish tacos, which were fantastic; the steak, which was wonderful; and the kid’s grilled cheese, which was great. The beer was also local and delicious. Our waitress gave lots of helpful recommendations and was great. All the staff were really attentive and friendly. We will be eating there again soon, because everything on the menu looked interesting. And everything we had was exceptionally delicious. What a gem to have in Milford!
First time at hair of the dog and I have to say it was amazing! Jeff and his sister were bartending for brunch and them bloody Mary’s and mimosas were delicious. Don’t forget the food that was fantastic and I will probably be going there for for seeable future sundays!!! Thanks so much for the great food an amazing service!
Excellent, excellent, excellent! Great lobster roll, great steak, generous portions! Alexis and Michele are the perfect hostesses with the mosteses! Nice atmosphere and decor. Will definitely be back!!
