Upon entering we stood and waited to be seated while servers stared and walked around. Finally a hosts seats us and there was just an overwhelming smell like a porta potty. After a while you get used to it. Food was way overpriced for what was provided and DO NOT get any seafood. The veal made my friend sick and have stomach issues next day and I had similar problems from the shrimp. The staff is quick to refill water and box your plate but it just wasn’t worth $100+. Save yourself and go somewhere else.
I do not ever write reviews, and the only reason I am is because I have heard such good things about this place. My family and I decided to go here after my graduation. The food was ok, atmosphere was nice, service was good. However, my salad that came with my dinner had hair in it and I just disregarded it, didn't say anything to anyone (including my own family) fast forwarding, my brother's chicken had a piece of hair wrapped around it. The hair was gross, but what is really throwing me off is that a few hours later I felt extremely sick. I believe to have food poisoning as I threw up my entire dinner, and all the other fun symptoms that come with it. I had the vodka sauce w. shrimp and scallops. I think it is from the scallops since I am the only at the table that got them.I am really disappointed. Please do better.
Everyone does their job with a smile. The food is fresh and the portions are large. The drinks are excellent. Save room for dessert and espresso martinis!

Fratelli's Italian Restaurant is an excellent restaurant with delicious food and top notch service provided by a friendly and attentive staff. I ordered veal and risotta. My plate arrived with the biggest piece of fork-tender bone in veal I have ever seen with cheese risotta. It was delicious! My wife ordered a New York Strip steak and said it was one of the best she'd ever eaten.The wait staff was superb, they quickly topped off water glasses and removed emptied plates. Our food was set before us hot and steaming. The staff didn't hover, they stood to the side and worked as a team, watching the dining room and quickly taking care of any need. The only other time we have had such excellent service was at Havana NY on W. 38th St. in NYC. That is also an excellent restaurant with great food too.Our dinner at Fratelli's was truly memorable, and if we are back in the New Haven area, we will be sure to visit them again.
Ambiance and attention to detail was amazing. Well run, clean, tastefully decorated, great music and acoustics. Staff was courteous, quick, knowledgeable and attentive. Portions were high quality, generous and priced reasonably. I wish we were not just here for a weekend wedding, but could return frequently.
I finally got here after passing by for a long time and I'm so glad I did! I had the Chicken Romano and my friend had the Shrimp Fra Diablo and both were absolutely delicious! Side salad with Blue cheese dressing was very good and the bread is perfect served warm with butter. The sauce on both dishes was quite good and the ambiance is really nice. Also the portions were absolutely worth the price. I will be definitely be going back and bringing my husband next time! I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good Italian food.

Visited while traveling, recommended by desk clerk at my hotel. And wow, a great recommendation. Despite the late hour (about 9pm on a Thursay), place was still fairly busy. Good sign, right? Wife ordered the fish special, I got the rabe & sausage with pasta. Both just awesome, great italian food. Nice white cloth atmosphere, but nice casual vibe. Service was professional and smooth. Next time I'm traveling through the area I will definitely return. I highly recommend you give them a try!
