I’ve been a loyal patron here since the start and it’s, by far, the favorite go-to place of mine in the Hartford area. The staff is great, the baked goods are unreal (including vegan/gluten free) and are all baked on-site. Recently, the owners began roasting and packaging their own beans.. I have to say, the coffee has been terrific! It’s smooth, and to me, less bitter than the beans they had been purchasing prior (which weren’t bad, but when you prefer more balance, the current coffee hits the mark). It is also a very large space with back parking and picnic tables (including an awning) so you can enjoy your coffee outdoors in the nice weather. Can’t say enough… I recommend this place all the time! Support small businesses- they are what creates the neighborhood feel of any town! :)

A+ coffee house. Always a pleasant experience here whether an order is placed online or in-person. They offer a wide variety of coffee combinations, have delectable food and baked-good gluten free offerings.In addition, Silk City roasts their own beans, so try to pick up a bag on the way out. You won’t be disappointed.They offer free wifi & have outdoor/indoor seating. Lovely ambiance as well. This place is a treat that you will enjoy.
Silk City used to be a place where I can enjoy an excellent cup of coffee. However, since they switched to roasting their own coffee it hasn't been the same. Actually, it's quite awful now. I've tried several items from the menu and each cup lacks the nuance and taste it once had. Maybe they're still learning their craft with the roasting process. Regardless, I'm rooting for Silk City as the staff is friendly and the interior is a great place to spend time in.
Have been here a handful of times since moving to Manchester in 2020. Silk City Coffee has great locally roasted coffee. The staff is always so personable and I love that they support local initiatives. There is a community board in the back that keeps people connected. Their food also is inclusive with gluten free options. Only thing I wish is that they'd offer almond milk!

Great coffee, yummy pastries and a comfy atmosphere! Grab a drink and settle in for a couple hours to do some work or chat with friends. Can't beat this hangout and I love supporting this local small business!
I started coming to Silk City about a week ago and so far I really like it. It has a great atmosphere, good customer service, and I enjoy the tea and matcha. It's down the street from my job so it's a good place for me to go and get some work done before or after my shift. I'll definitely be coming here more frequently.
Really disappointing! I am new to the area and this place was highly recommended. Not sure why. First thing I noticed was the ambiance - loud and crowded, no COVID protocols at all. Ordered a cinnamon roll and apparently they serve them cold - never been to a place that serves a cold cinnamon roll. Also got a chai latte and they didn't have almond milk....what kind of coffee shop especially with this vibe doesn't have almond milk? Whatever, I got it with regular milk and it did not in the slightest bit taste like a chai latte. It wasn't terrible, but you could barely taste any chai. Altogether my one latte and cinnamon roll was almost $10! Don't think I'll be back.
