If your friend's car dies in Vernon, while you're on your way from Maine to see Phish in Philly, and you unexpectedly have a couple hours to kill, you could do a lot worse than Joey Garlic's. I've eaten more than my fair share of fried mozzarella sticks in my day, but these are some of the best. The breading was stunningly crisp, tastily topped with parmesan reggiano and fresh parsley, a real nice touch. Great crunch on the bite, followed by a nice cheesy pull. The accompanying marinara sauce was pleasantly garlicky and tangy, a most enjoyable selection. A Kentucky mule is certainly not a traditional pairing for mozzarella sticks, but the drinks were well balanced and poured with a heavy hand, which was greatly appreciated on such a hot, muggy day. Overall Sabrina took wonderful care of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our first time at Joey Garlic's. While I hope that you, dear reader, never have the head gasket blow on your Subaru, I can only hope, and you should too, that you're close to Joey Garlic's when it happens.

Food for lunch is good with specific choices for lunch. Nice interior. Friendly reception and service. Nice clean bathroom. Parking in front. Prices are fair! Recommended.

What an amazing experience!!! Fantastic food, clean, friendly atmosphere. Our server, Tori was extremely attentive. Generous portions of great tasting food in a great restaurant. What else could you ask for?

Excellent Service and good, Highly recommended!!!

This was our first time at Joey Garlics. Service was fast and charming. The Buffalo Cauliflower here are with larger cauliflower chunks than Maggie mcflys. Mcflys buffalo flavoring is hotter too, just an observation not a preference. It's a filling appetizer in both places. I'd say though that you get more cauliflower at Joey's because they use larger pieces. In the final estimation that's better for the purposes of a meal. But if you're at the bar or you have a fun group of people sharing this appetizer, I'd say at Maggie Mcflys, it'll go farther meaning they're more pieces to share. It's hotter there so you'll drink more too. I had the Tortellini in an al vodka sauce which sadly had a confusing and unsatisfying flavor. On the positive side, the pasta is served hot, like steaming and boy is that nice. I really wanted to love their al vodka sauce but it needs work. My mother had the fettuccine in Alfredo sauce which she found to be lumpy and lacking flavor. On the positive side the chicken soup, salad, and pizza (to go) were all good. . I'm a pescatarian who stopped ordering fish in restaurants because the chefs won't cook the fish the way I like it which is extremely well done, overdone, dry, with sauces on the side. For some reason chefs like to present fish swimming in sauces. That's inedible to me. Also fish is a soft texture food, for contrast it shouldn't be paired with whipped potatoes or creamed spinach or the worst vegtable of all squash. The best pairing is with a tangy mango salsa on top of a crispy rice cake, which you can find at Founders Inn in Milford. But any crunchy vegetables will do, crunchy asparagus, crunchy carrots, crunchy rice. That's my opinion.

I ordered chicken piccata with extra chicken. So what did they do???? They gave me the regular dinner portion which was made well as it usually was…. But the extra chicken was obviously old and dried out… Very sad…this is the second in the last 3 visits that my or my family’s food has been overcooked or just old/poor quality. For what Joey Garlic’s Charges for food, they can do better… Disappointed and will not be back for a while if at all…Save yourself the “Trip” and visit Texas Roadhouse next door…. always a consistent, high quality meal…

Great food! Our server was Very attentive! I love that restaurant!

one of the best dishes i’ve had out to eat this year everything was cooked to perfection!

This place was on the better side of average, but the food wasn’t the best. The cauliflower bites were delicious. The serving sizes were too big, though. For example, a half sub is as big as a large sub anywhere else. The calzone was as big as a head. Fri-O-Meter: 8/10. The fries were crispy but not flavorful enough.

I came here with a group of 4 on a Friday night to grab some dinner after hearing amazing things about the food. It was very busy and seemed to be a popular place. We were seated after about 5 minutes and our waitress, Sam, came over right away. The drink specials were fun with different options you don't see many places, like a pistachio martini. There was also a huge amount of options to choose from. I will say that if you are looking for vegetables the only choice for you is really a salad, heavy on the carbs! My husband got the sausage and broccoli rabe and I got the chicken cacciatore. My husbands was amazing! I really liked my sauce and the mushrooms in it, however I felt the chicken wasn't seasoned at all. I think a little bit of salt on the chicken breasts would have helped a lot.The prices were a bit high considering its mainly pasta. The portions are large however with pasta being so inexpensive and the menu being a bit higher I would expect the amount I got.Overall a good time, I'd recommend a stop in!
