The pizzele canolis are DELICIOUS! Totally made my night
The food is delicious and made from scratch. You need to try it for yourself you won't be disappointed. This was my second time trying their food and I'll definitely be back to try something else on the menu.
Note that this was a yelp sponsored event and the review is based on that experience! Thanks to yelp CM and the business owners at Twisted Italian for putting together a beautiful event. This restaurant was a finalist in 2021 Connecticut Restaurant Association Awards and Experts pucks best restaurant Connecticut magazine 2022.This restaurant is a women owned business. With a wide variety of choices at the Parkville market ...there is only one twisted Italian. The menu has a wide variety of mostly Italian dishes like pastas, grinders and salads.I was curious to know what the surprise was that yelp had in store for us and you won't be disappointed as it's yummy and filling. I was planning on ordering a pasta or an additional item and I'm glad I didn't as the portion was large. I would probably be back here again but I have a lot more restaurants to try at Parkville market before I get back to this place. If you are a vegetarian, let them know and they have something for you as well.
Bottom line…I respect the food, and I don’t feel that way about many places. I was taken aback at the menu prices, $12 half grinder/$22 whole, considerably more than I pay in Italian delis, still paid full price after subtracting roasted peppers/provolone, not super accommodating about substitutions, BUT the size was impressive and in terms of QUALITY you won’t find a better grinder in the area, Just wish they offered fresh mozz/basil then my meatball or chicken parm grinder would be ideal, although a whole grinder at that point would probably be pushing $30 lol
We stopped by last Friday for dinner at Parkville Market and headed straight over to The Twisted Italian where Michelle took our order. Dave got the Chicken Parm and I got the Crazy Bolognese. Not sure how many different ways you can say delicious. Michelle even stopped by our table to see how we were doing and chatted with us. We’ll definitely be going back soon!
The gods were in my favor Saturday night,! i bought the last lamb ragu gnocchi special and it was the best i ever had,,,well next to my Nonna’s,i hope you bring it back on the regular,,delizioso!!!!
Exceptional service and crazy good food! Mark and Michelle’s “Twisted Italian Cafe” is for sure the best that Parkville market offers. My personal favorites are the Eggplant Parm Grinder, the Brussels sprouts, and the bolognese. Really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. All of the grinders (especially the twisted Italian) are special. Very fair prices for the quality and quantity. I always look forward to Mark whipping up some of his specials such as gnocchi or his famous lasagna! You won’t find better Italian food in Hartford. Good for catering too.
Honestly this is the only bad place in the entirity of Parkville Market nearly 30 dollars for spaghetti with one (big) meatball. The food is worse than olive garden's where you can get a better version of most of their dishes for a third of the price. Try any of the other booths in parkville but this one is entirely a ripoff. The big meatball doesn't even taste good it just looks good for photos.
A bit pricey but a good sandwich overall.Pros: The provolone cheese was delish.Loved the special Mayo (garlic Mayo I think it was).Cons: There was SO much lettuce on my sandwich. I took most of it off and it was enough for a whole salad legit lol. I don't care but it felt wasteful and it was just over the top.Had tomatoes when I asked for none.Cost. $14.50 for a sandwich but if you have 2 people it's enough to share.
My husband and I went for lunch and the chef and his wife were awesome people, while we were waiting for our grinder they let us taste the homemade ricotta which was fantastic, they let us taste the bolognese which was awesome, they even let us taste the meatballs that were super fantastic!! Then we got our Italian grinder and it was so so delicious!! You have to go there and give them a try, I promise you won't be sorry ?
