Service was amazing and the server was super sweet and attentive to us. The food was good but not great as Iâve had previous times. Sweet plantains were not fresh nor sweet.
Snapper fish was cold and dry, and the sauteed onions were non-sauteed. So it was just a poor experience. Thanks Chena

Iâve tried too of The Russells locations so far. I am alway impressed by the cozily decorated interior, thoughtful and thorough service, beaten only by the excellent food. Wait time was a bit long. But thatâs to be expected when at a sit down Jamaican restaurant serving authentic cuisine. 10/10 recommend, will be back.
Lovely night out to dance. Haven’t been back in Hartford for a years, but it was great to find that the Russell’s still doesn’t disappoint! Great reggae vibes. Cover charge is a bit pricey at 20$ but worth it.
The jerk chicken wings appetizers was sooooo delicious! The flavors was just bursting in your mouth. So was the honey glazed jerk salmon entree. ? my husband had the oxtail entree.....it was a little tough for my taste but tasty. They have bottomless Rum punch!!! So Good!
I really loved this venue apart from its incredible interior design, modern but yet iconic lounge setting that just lets you feel you took a trip down memory lane. The Russell has a very big dinning room accompanied but a beautiful elevated stage where you can see some great acts and enjoy some deliciously made food. All the items in the menu from the finger foods to full blown entres are built and made with love! Wide variety of drinks at their upscale bar on the upper deck past the dinning tables make it great for when you just want to stop by for a drink or two. Bartenders always refreshing and cheery. Great atmosphere for a date or just a hang with family or friends HIGHLYYYY RECOMMEND!

The Russell never disappoints. If you are looking for West Indian restaurant with a grown and sexy vibe, this is your place. I went there to celebrate Mother's day with a couple of family members who have never been. It was during brunch time and we all enjoyed our appetizers, food, and drinks. The ambience is nice. Definitely recommend going here anytime. Again I say I have never been disappointed with the food or atmosphere. The owner makes sure customer service and quality are priorities.
