The Portly Pig catered a family party for 50 at my home on July 23rd. They did a fantastic job. My guests raved about the food, especially the brisket. Barbara was so helpful to me in planning for this event. And Jonathon arrived exactly on time and set up everything perfectly. I highly recommend The Portly Pig and will definitely use them again.

I love thier pork ribs, I ? their garlic mashed potatoes and garlic green beans even more. The homemade gravy for the mashed potatoes is too die for. I can literally drink it it's so good. It reminds me of my Grandma's, and she was born and lived in the south. If you like bears you're going to love the Portly pig. Also, I prefer PP's smoked wings over Bear's smokehouse. I will be returning and probably on some occasions just to order the sides, lol.

I truly enjoyed the food. I had brisket, ribs, baked beans and potatoe salad.

Honestly if you haven’t gotten food here before you’re missing out! They’re the best BBQ place around. I will drive 45 minutes just to get takeout from them! You have to try the pulled pork Mac and my boyfriends favorite is the ribs. So good. The owner is great and the staff is always wonderful and kind when I order. The cool thing is they even have catering! I know I’ll be using them for all special events. Who doesn’t love BBQ! Keep up the great work!

**Beware of placing orders online**My company placed a future order thru Doordash. Doordash driver showed up to restaurant and order was not made because the staff "couldn't see the order thru their system". They didn't feel the need to call us to let me know of the issue. Doordash driver called us about the issue. We called the Portly Pig and the staff member was very unprofessional on the phone. Had to make several calls to refund my credit card. We'll take our business to a better BBQ spot

Excellent smoked beans. Only one nit: The sign right at the counter, as of yesterday, says $9 per pint. But I was charged almost $10.50. That's a lot of tax. I didn't say anything, but Portly Pig should update its prices, if that's what they're charging now. Just sayin'.

The food was hot and very good. The service was excellent ant the BBQ chicken was better than bears smoke house... Will order again soon..

Just tried this place for the first time. Was very impressed. Moved up here from Texas and had been looking for bbq. I like that it’s a dry rub. Sauce (several varieties to choose from) come on the side.I’ve only had the brisket and the sausage but both were excellent. We also had cornbread and potato salad. Those were good as well. Everything came to us in a timely manner and considering it was a Saturday and fairly busy, I was pleased. It’s a small boutique shop (most good bbq is), so have some patience if it’s busy, and be prepared for some good “New England” style bbq. Gonna try the pork next. I’ll let you know. Oh, and by the way… parkville market is legit.

Really good food. I love the corn and the pork ? The best BBQ in New England hands down

Awesome fall day perfect for some outdoor dining at Parkville market. My choice was the Portly Pig amazing pulled pork with coleslaw and spicy beans over grilled corn bread. I went with the spicy bourbon sauce it was perfect just the right amount of kick. The pulled pork was melt in your mouth awesome, spicy beans were on point, coleslaw was perfectly dressed and added the right amount of crunch. I did mention this was all heaped on top of delicious grilled scratch made cornbread right? I noticed they had a dessert menu if you can resist Smoked chocolate bourbon bread pudding you have more willpower than I do. You also would have missed out on a truly sensational dessert. It was as my southern friends would say so good it makes you want to slap your Mama ? sorry for the iPhone pics tough in bright sun
