Ah, an outstanding culinary experience. This is a really nice looking place with a semi-open kitchen where you can watch food being prepared. However, don't feel that you have to get all dressed up. Shorts appeared to be acceptable. I had a salad here and some pizza. Both were excellent. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. If I lived closer, I would be back quickly to try some more dishes.
Went there for lunch recently the menu had a great variety and the lunch prices were fantastic. Definitely suggest this for a lunch stop if you are in the area.
What a value. Every plate was perfect - 3 of us with drinks just around 100 bucks and we got a ton of food. Just one thing Let the pizza rest on a wire rack - needs to air out underneath and it wont be so soggy. Flavor was great though - definitely coming back

We recently had the after funeral luncheon for my mother-in-law here. From my first contact with Jim, he was helpful, kind and professional. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The wait staff was wonderful and went above and beyond making certain our little granddaughter received something she would eat. I highly recommend First and Last Tavern of Hartford.
Happy hour prices here are great, and the pizza is top notch, im talking GOOD, drool in your mouth good. I love that it has a local spot feel and feels cozy and old school, I have been coming for years. I also love the staff, the bartender Marty is the best, just a cool/must go to place.
I love this place!! Has a very intimate feel. Happy hour prices are great and the pizza is top-tier. Old and cozy, I'd recommend to anyone visiting Hartford. I like to ride an electric scooter through the large park nearby and stop here at a halfway point.
Enjoyed this eatery with my daughter's volleyball team. Nice space with history and atmosphere.Food and service were excellent.
Sat at the bar during lunchtime on a Friday, The drink selection was very good, and The service was great from the bartender. Ordered the Wedge Salad, it was excellent. Then had a personal pizza which also was excellent. Highly recommend. Great atmosphere
A Hartford Staple of excellence, you don't experience food and atmosphere much these days as you do here. But Connecticut will always have it's Gems especially when it comes to pizza and this is as New England as it gets.
