Horrible service! I was waiting for 2 hours for 1 sandwich and 3 frappe while everyone else that came before AND after me getting served. Your food will be sitting for more than a hour if the frappe aren’t done. In my case I got my frappe 1 hour later and a hour later I’m still sitting here waiting for 1 [email protected]&$/: sandwich. They lost me as a costumer

I made a simple order of 2 sandwiches, was made the wrong way, when I asked for them to correct my order, they began being very rude and disrespectful and acting very dirty and unprofessional considering that I was very respectful even after they messed up and I also asked to speak off to the side so that other customers won’t hear about my own personal issue and it was a huge argument, all I wanted was my order I payed for and wanted and it became a huge issue, to the point that they refused to make my original order and only offered to remake only if I payed again and also stated no refunds cause at that point I lost my mood to eat there, so I lost $40 Nd a order I didn’t want or ask for.. I will never again go there again considering that that’s the second time I had that same experience trying to give them a second chance to completely regret it.. I will not waist my time at all, overpriced and very poor customer service
This is my second time visiting this restaurant. The first encounter I found the service to be very slow. It has improved since. The music is great however it is very loud and the person taking orders appears to have a hard time hearing customers. The food is overpriced for the portion and quality. The passion fruit frappe was not all that good. The mofongo and shrimp was too garlicky. I will more than likely not come back. Their sign “We don’t return money or exchange orders, please confirm that your order is correct before making payment” appears to be very arrogant and not customer service friendly. I suggest lower the volume of the music and prices. I understand that they have to make money. The menu posted on the plexi glass is dark and overwhelmingly filled different items. My suggestion is they lighten the menu or make it bigger more visible to read.
The staff of La Poeta in downtown Hartford earn 1 star from my family and I. They are always chasing down customers trying to fight someone. Being on the prestigious and beloved Pratt Street; La Poeta simply does not belong. It baffles me that the employees in “La Poeta” t shirts and tacky half leggings smell so musty and dirty but have the audacity to speak so poorly to PAYING customers. The confrontational attitudes, dirty, cheesy smelling uniforms and just sheer incompetence are the reasons why this place will soon be out of business. Not my fault, I am simply reviewing based on my experience. They showed all of Pratt st what kind of business is operated here. I feel embarrassed for the owners and neighboring businesses! La Poeta is a pathetic business that will soon have no choice but to relocate to Park st or shut down for good. They cant even offer authentic fresh PR food, why does it exist?They should be ashamed of their operations and reputation within the Downtown community. What a joke!! Even McDonald’s has a higher rating…
This would be my 2nd time here first time had a Cuban sandwichWas awesome had to take a piece home was huge and delicious so here I am again to try my favorite Puerto Rican Sandwich to see how they do so till next time when I come give you the decision sorry tripleta on point

Food flavors are amazing. Place clean and staff polite. Had the pernil sandwiches and mofongo with carne frita. ? will definitely be coming back here. I'm from worcester and over there we ain't got good puertorican restaurants that's serve food this good.
Food is delicious.too long wait times to dine in .employees can look serious and don't make u feel so welcome at times but other than that the food is deliciosoooo!
