Food is good too bad they are always out of it - even ordering ahead doesn’t help - staff seems as burnt as the ends and just gave a blank stare as to how to remedy not having the food we ordered ??♀️
Awesome food, super friendly staff and cool vibe! We had mama bear salad with briskets and a side pulled chicken. SO GOOD!! Highly recommended!!
The burnt ends are phenomenal. Chicken is good, brisket good. Sides were not awesome. The bbq beans are chili, not sweet, quite a kick. Sweet potato has no sweet, no butter. It's just mashed sweet potatoes. Price is pretty steep, plus you have to pay for parking to dine in. The guys who cut the meat were nice and helpful, the gal at cash register made it clear we were an annoyance. I am glad we tried it, but I probably won't make the effort to return.
This is one of the best smoked BBQ places I have found. I wish I lived closer and could eat more of the yummy for my tummy BBQ. The layout is rustic and I love the server yourself cafeteria style service. I have tried the brisket burnt ends, sliced brisket. They were both excellent. The sides are also awesome. I had the baked beans and mac and cheese. The service is spectacular and the décor and atmosphere jive well. All in all a great place to eat if you like good smoked BBQ. The sauces are good also, they have a ghost pepper I am afraid to try, but the Texas Pepper is my style.
Decent barbecue
First night in Hartford - Great food and lots of it - great beers - I tried 3 - cool staff - and good conversation with the other guys in the bar - see you tomorrow!
The bad. There is fat on the brisket and it does not taste smoked. The burnt ends were not available. Small print extra for some of the meats including wings when ordering the 2 or 3 meat combos. Corn bread is 2 dollars extra and does fall apart when holding like over baked or stale. The good. Good location. Cole slaw tasty. Sweet mashed potatoes good. Sauces are good and variety. Not worth what they charge. Just a little high price.
Bear's 100% the best BBQ and provides excellent service. Wish i had known before! Those are some serious ribs!
Great smokehouse, I have no complaints, i went for my friends birthday and I did not get to really look at the menu or order (big group) but everything that came along as delicious, I will visit them a second time on my own accord and have a better idea, but will come back 4 sure.
The food is delicious, prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. Only complaint for the Hartford location is the parking can be a bear, no pun intended. Otherwise great food and big servings.
