I only went here once and I wish I could go back. I went with my family and we were full and happy when we left. The food there is really good, I had nine cheeseburgers and a thing of fries. The meat was high quality that my neighbor, a chef, couldn't stop talking about it. They were the best cheeseburgers I've ever had in my entire life though. They had a lot of flavor, tenderness, and juice that they melted into my mouth. The chefs didn't even add much to the meat at all, so it tasted naturally good without extra spice/flavorings. The servers were nice and they even gave a special desert recipe to my neighbor when she asked.
Veggie wrap with falafel is great if you're in to kalamata olives. Spinach artichoke dip was also pretty fire. Had a small issue with my wife's ribs, but they replaced it and everything worked out ok. Ended up being some great ribs, she loved them. Also, pretty great beer selection. We'll be back.
Wood N Tap in Hamden would never get my business again. Came today with my family for Cinco De Mayo. The host seated us outside. We sat at our table for 20 minutes and no one came to acknowledge us, offer water, plates, anything. After 15 mins I went back inside to ask them would we be served giving grace to labor shortages because it’s a tough time and the host again very nonchalantly said that she would send someone over to our table. Which never occurred! The most troublesome part is 3 tables of white patrons came in after us and ALL 3 tables were greeted and served within a minute of sitting down, right next to us! The host brought them plates as she seated them and the waitresses taking their order promptly without any eye contact to us as if we were invisible right next to them. They seated us in the corner and not so much as looked our way. The treatment we received was blatant! I am mortified and disgusted as I’ve never been treated like this at a restaurant, a local restaurant that I frequent! Before we grabbed our things to leave I asked to speak with a manger who was just as passive as his entire crew. Wood N Tap would never get my business again. Great restaurant overall! The food and drinks are delicious. The atmosphere is very lively and always a nice place to hang out and grab a bite to eat. The chicken nachos are the best! The staff is very nice and welcoming. The restaurant has both in door and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has umbrellas and heat lamps.
I decided to order online, show up early, and check out the restaurant. It was for 7:30pm, so I arrived at 7:10pm. As I was parking I noticed a lot of parking spaces for curbside pick-up, along with it's own side entrance. Very impressive.As I walked inside of the restaurant I was greeted by a friendly hostess who already had my prepaid receipt available to sign. I was offered to sit at the bar while I wait for my order. I explained that I was doing a Google review and she was okay with my taking some photos to post.The decor is very nice, the atmosphere is calming, and the guest all seemed pleased with their meals. All great signs in a restaurant.My food reached my hands at 7:23pm. Quickness is great, unless errors are made. I ordered a bacon burger medium well and a hickory burger medium. With a few minutes drive to my destination I considered carryover cooking. To my delight the temperatures were perfect. I definitely tip my hat to the cook.I bit into the hickory burger and immediately noticed the dry taste of brioche buns. There was no bbq sauce on my sandwich. Everyone who is educated in culinary arts know a sauce makes a meal. Only took away 1 star instead of 2 because everything else was on point.I haven't decided yet if I'd return back to the restaurant. If you want to give them a try they're a minute away off Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) Exit 60 on Dixwell Ave.
Great place to hang out with friends or family or to get a quick drink with a co-worker. I don't know if they still have it, but one of my favorite options was the mac and cheese pizza!
Food was amazing! Comfortable atmosphere and Niko our bartender was personal and social. Definitely will be back!

Waitress was very nice however, mojitos had aftertaste. Ordered another drink that was safe. No pickle On sliders, had to ask. Dressing for spinach salad not warm and looked like a lump of lard, ordered a burger to go at the beginning of dinner …. Waited another 20 min after dessert bc order was not put through. Paid for a second mojito that never got drank. Overall after having stomach issues that did not agree with us on a hour ride home, this was the third time giving it a try and this will be the last. It was not horrible and these are not the waitress fault, the over all establishment needs to pay attention to the details. Also the tables are so close together during covid very uncomfortable to have a conversation let alone being careful with covid. It just seemed like the experience could of been better, not horrible but for 100.00 for 2 people maybe I’m expecting more attention to the details.
Had a great time at Wood N Tap, Anais was a terrific waitress who was prompt and polite. Will be coming back soon and recommend to friends !
