Again, this dozen was bought to the office. I was lucky enough to get the maple bacon donut and what's really better than that? One could make an argument for the jelly donut but. . . At any rate, the deliciousness is consistent!
Our family has been going to visit Julie and Sockie at Whitney Donut every Sunday for years. Amazing food and great people. The kind of place where folks still say “Thank you” when you hold the door open.
A favorite of mine ever since moving to Hamden three years ago! Their prices are great, and I love their drive through option.My favorite donut is probably their maple bacon donut and blueberry cake donut. But you can’t go wrong with any flavor!I am also obsessed with their apple fritters! So big, with chunks of apple that are nice and cinnamon-y.There’s nothing better than grabbing a breakfast sandwich, a donut, a hot coffee, and enjoying it after a weekend out.
Great donuts, great service. Marble glazed stick is one of their best.
I am happily addicted to their donuts. My favorites are the black raspberry jelly and apple filled ones. You have to get there earlier in the morning definitely on weekends. I also like their egg sandwiches. My waistline is glad it's a little far, otherwise I would be there everyday.
There’s a reason this place is more popular than the DD down the street! Just got a sandwich today but would love to come back again to try the donuts and coffee. Appears to be a longstanding neighborhood landmark. The drive thru does spill out onto the street and make things a little chaotic - I just went inside and got my order in about the same time. It’s really ok to get out of your car and walk inside and not waste gas!
Great bagels got a dozen to bring home since there's not many good bagel places, especially in my area. Pumpernickel is great as well as sesame seed. I had a great fried egg, bacon & cheddar cheese sandwich on a roll. Actually didn't buy any donuts. It was my 1st.time there. But bought a few other dates goods to bring home like 2 strawberry cream cheese filled croissants (my favorite) & 2 Almond croissants ( got for my parents their favorite). Also had a wonderful cranberry orange walnut muffin as well! Oh wait I said by 1 black raspberry jelly filled powdered donut for my dad! He said it was delicious and since it's February they made all of their filled donuts. Heart-shaped! I'll def. be back next time I'm in the Hamden area when they are open.
Whitney Donuts is one of the best donut shops here in CT, and it's especially nostalgic for how long it's been open. The crossiant sandwiches are amazing and it's all very affordable
My new go to donut shop! Great donuts and friendly service. Very long line at the drive through on a Sunday morning, so be prepared if you go during peak hours. Sandwiches and donuts were great. Coffee was OK but nothing to write home about.
Can't get a baccon egg and cheese right...I've gone here 6 or 7 times for a BEC sandwich and they keep putting the bacon all in the middle of the sandwich. I brought this to the attention of one of the staff and I got 1 piece of bacon that time so 1 more chance for this place then I'll look for another breakfast shop. The doughnuts are a good size, the coffee is weak and most of the time tastes like they combined 2 or more pots into 1 to make a fresh pot.
