Great sushi for a great price. Got 4 speciality rolls and shumai for under 50 dollars, loved it

Gets 5 stars because it achieves same quality as other hibachi places in the area but for a slightly cheaper price. Phenomenal food all around, if your looking for some quality Japanese food look no where else especially if your on a budget!

Pricing is outrageous for the quality of this food.I ordered the steak hibachi which was bland and super chewy. The vegetables were boiled and tasted freezer burnt. Dynamite roll was tiny and the ginger had a weird bubbly film. The clear soup tasted like tap water with soy sauce. Salad was iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato with what tasted like Cesar dressing. For $37 I would’ve expected better quality. This isn’t the first bad experience I’ve had with kumo but it will be the last. How in earth is sushi palace better quality and half the price. The only reason I am giving two stars is because when I picked up my order the take out staff was very nice as were the servers.

My daughter recommended this place to me. Food is very good and quick for a take out. Will go back again!

Sweet staff, delicious sticky rice (although there’s not much mango to go with it), great pad thai, fabulous price!

Ok let's talk about. It wasn't to crowded and it was clean. The prices were reasonable and the Signature Rolls were 50% off all day everyday. You can see below me my girl decided to order Crab Rangoon and to my disgust and surprise it came with Honey Mustard ( what the hell) per the nosey cashier "its a Special Sauce" no it was Honey Mustard..I asked for the Sweet Chili Sauce beside the sauce the Rangoons are good. I had Salmon and Shrimp Habachi the Shrimp was ok the Salmon was dry and stiff. We ordered 2 rolls one with Lobster one with Shrimp. We couldn't tell if the Lobster was in there. The side salad was actually good that's why I took a pic. It didn't have that chalky gritty Ginger Dressing that I have had at other Japanese restaurants. All in all it was ok. I have no desire to go back but it's just my opinion. I will say the Service was good and that means alot.

Easily some of the best sushi that you can get in Hamden. Their prices are very affordable due to "50% off every day" which is funny but can't complain! The sashimi dinner box is also a great combo for those who want to cut down on carbs. I haven't tried the hibachi here so can't speak to that, but if you're looking for a quick place to get sushi takeout this is the spot in Hamden!

Good price with great quality sushi and sashimi!!! Sorry, no photo because I ate it too quick!

Good sushi with great prices

Quick review: it's not horrible. It's not amazing. It's just an adorable decent Asian restaurant. It will be good for large groups especially with a fun hibachi table. Kids probably won't be picky either.Long review:I would go here more for the price than the flavor. It's extremely affordable compared to a lot of Sushi places I've gone to. But the quality is lower than those other places. That being said, the food is in no way bad. It's all good, but great. The edamame was wonderful. The asparagus roll tasted bland. And the spicy salmon was not as flavorful as others I've had. The best was the appetizer garlic broccoli. Simple but good if you love garlic like I do. The green tea I ordered tasted oversteeped and a little burnt. The staff was kind and attentive. the restaurant itself was very clean as well.
