I have been going to glen wood for 50 years. I usually gon2 or three times a month. This week when I went I was VERY. Disappointed. The fries weren’t the usual thick fries they were very thin. The onion ring were fantastic as always, however on both orders. They barely filled the paper boat they sever them in! I hope this was just a fluke, my daughter said Mom these are not glen wood fries!
A yummy treat. We miss the order calling, that was part of the Glenwood experience. Like everything everywhere prices are getting up there, can't go very often anymore.
It's ok. Food quality isn't always top notch and it should be especially with their seafood. I always get the lobster roll
The Glenwood has been in Hamden, CT for many years! It has good food & atmosphere, along with Kelly's Cone Connection. It's better than going to McDonald's or Burger King! It's a landmark! I recommend it too ALL !!!
Best hot dog around... great onion rings and sweet potato fries. Chocolate shake thick and creamy.
Had an awful experience with one of the workers. My family and I went in to eat and my husband was treated so inappropriately by one of the staff that our 14 year old daughter felt some type of way and another staff member asked the woman that had been so disrespectful if she was going to apologize and she laughed. The workers actions and comments where discriminatory and unacceptable. The Manger told me she THINKS the worker didn't mean it the way it was taken.... but if you can't tell me that your employee would not do something like that and your other worker felt she was out of line... then something is terribly wrong. At the end of the day I will have to forgive the simple mindedness and disrespect.... but due to this unforgettable experience I will NEVER SHOW SUPPORT OR RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN.
On a rainy Saturday,Our daughter, a Hamden native, visited us from NY with her husband and 2 children.She insisted that we go to Glenwood for lunch so that she could share her fond childhood memories with her own young family.It was a great success!!Ending, of course with a satisfying dessert at Kelly's Cone Connection...
The best hot dog that I ever ate was at the Glenwood Drive-in in Hamden, Connecticut with bacon, onions, chili, spicy relish, relish mustard and American cheese: fuggedaboutit.
Food was great would definitely visit again next time I'm in the state.
Real good dog. The chili is super good as well. Hamburger left a lot to be desired. The French fries are crinkle cut but still pretty solid..
