I’m new to the area due to working nearby and was recommended Eli’s for pizza. I was skeptical at first being from NJ about other pizza places from out of state. Ordered a basic pie to be on the safe side. First bite blew me away! From fresh ingredients to the crust and excellent flavors I will have to say it’s the best pizza I have ever tasted. Whenever I’m in the area, I will make it a regular place to get pizza from. They have so many other items I would love to try. Glad I was introduced to this place. Puts NJ pizza to shame!
Their pizza is absolutely delicious. Thin crust New Haven style. Why drive to Worster St for pizza?
1/15/2022: My daughter and I had some errands to run for the day. As the day progressed, we needed a bite to eat and stumbled upon Eli’s Restaurant Group on Whitney Avenue. Mind you, we are very picky about our food. Oh my goodness, their pizza slices, cheesy garlic bread and Italian Wedding soup were the absolute best we have EVER had! Since my husband couldn’t join us for the day, we decided to share our experience and ordered a pizza to go for dinner. We were thinking if this restaurant was located closer to our home, we’d be their very best customer!Thank you Eli’s for this wonderful experience! The Rumery’s from Plantsville
Ordered from Eli's for the first time tonight. My grilled chicken and pepperoni pizza was excellent. I'll definitely be ordering again, and will post the pictures as I do.
I have ordered pizza from Eli's on Whitney Ave. in Hamden for decades. I've always been satisfied with their authentic "New Haven" style pizza. All that changed tonight. I ordered a large mozzarella with red sauce, peppers, onions, bacon, and sausage. It was ready when I went to pick it up, and I went directly home to serve it to my family. When I opened up the box, I couldn't believe my eyes. The pie looked as if it had been taken out of the oven about five or ten minutes early; the sauce was watery, the crust was just barely cooked (I had ordered it ""golden"), there was almost no sausage, and there was NO bacon at all. My family was hungry, so I didn't take it back (but I did send a letter with a picture). I am usually one of the first to praise service and food when it deserves recognition, but I also feel that the restrauteur deserve to know when and for what reason his clientele are dissatisfied. Based on what I was served tonight, I could not recommend the pizza at Eli's to anyone who enjoys real italian food. I hope for the sake of future patrons that this was an exception and not the rule.
Stopped by for a quick bite to eat. The sandwiches and pizza my party ordered were absolutely delicious!! The young man who took our order and brought out the food was very pleasant and accommodating. While sitting in the front dining area, we noticed many people coming in and picking up orders. Obviously Eli's is a very popular place. I would recommend it to anyone looking for some authentic italian pizza or sandwiches. ??
The pizza was really good. Especially the penne vodka pizza. Highly recommend this one , along with the Spud pizza
We have been going to Eli’s for years, and the food is good. I ordered a mushroom pizza, and there were no mushrooms. In addition, the pizza was dry and overcooked. Not sure when I will go back.

Have to come back to try more of their delicious pizza.
