Polpo is like being invited to an exclusive clubhouse with incredible food, astoundingly special service (like, there's no comparison ANYWHERE except their other restaurant, The Lion Brasserie in Glenville), and a bon vivant atmosphere. Every table is the best table in the house. There's valet parking which usually can be a pain but not here! Fast and delightful service going in and leaving! You are treated like the most VIP of all VIP's to ever walk through their doors. The food is as if there's no one else there and they are cooking just for you. And the service is as if you are the only guest that matters. There's eating and there's dining. This is dining. And it's how dining is meant to be.

Great place, great food, felt a little rushed to finish.
The oysters didnât taste right to me. I got the seafood risotto and the risotto wasnât cooked enough so it was hard. My husband ordered a seafood linguini and it came out over angel hair. The ambience was great and the place was packed. Loved the piano player. But I was so disappointed in the food and it wasnât cheap.
My girlfriend and I made a reservation over 2 months before we visited the restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were judged and shoved in an empty room full of tables because we were not the desired clientele that the restaurant wanted. Our waiter, while nice, was slow and did not give us much attention if at all. Our order was put in wrong and our food was late. The food was alright but having to wait over an hour for our last plate of food to arrive did not help our mood. overall the staff was unresponsive (especially the matrie d who from the start of our meal was yelling at his staff and brushed us off at the front stand when we first entered) and unskilled with no regard for diners who did not look like they would give a good tip.
Fabulous attentive service , excellent food , Great atmosphere and we always have a lovely evening there.
