This spot deserves more than five stars. Delicious food and excellent margaritas! I am originally from NorCal, and have been hunting for the best mexican food - I'm talking about authenticity and explosion of flavors. I have lived in New York for about 6 years now, and this spot in CT is now my absolute favorite mexican spot in the northeast. From the handmade blue corn tortillas to the most delicious nopales tacos and mushroom quesadillas (even my meat-eating husband agreed it was so tasty!), this place made my vegetarian dreams come true. My husband had the chicken tinga taco, cochinita pibil taco, and chorizo con papa taco, and he loved them all. As a California native, I would highly highly recommend this place for anyone looking to have a delicious meal. It isn't a fancy spot, but the food speaks for itself - I will definitely be going back for more :)
The food was amazing! Drinks were great. And the owner/chef was super nice. I recommend the crispy fish taco. It was out of this world. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Couldn't be more impressed.
I love La Taqueria. It’s a comfortable casual spot with excellent food, drink and vibe. My favorite is their crispy fish tacos with a nice refreshing margarita. The fish tacos are super simple but perfect. I like to mix it up with some of their sauces as well but they don’t need it. The fact that the tacos are nice and large is a huge plus for me. I’m a bigger guy so always have to order more than 3 at restaurants. Anyway if you like fried fish tacos this is a must try. Tell’em mike sent you.

The pork taco was too salty. The mushroom taco had a few pieces of sand in it. Other than that it was good.

Great quick lunch spot at the top of the Ave. The staff is ultra friendly and patient as you work through your order. Tacos are tasty and sizeable, will definitely return.
Amazing tacos. I got the cochinita pibil and short ribs tacos and they were bursting with flavor. They were not skimpy with the meat either. I will definitely be returning. No picture because they didn't stay on my plate long enough.
