Excellent food. Excellent experience. A great place to go for a special night out.
The best sushi restaurant I've ever been to in the area.We got the Omakase Juuni which includes chef's choice nigiri and your choice of 5 piece futomaki.I suggest making a reservation. Miso Soup along with edamame were delicious as well and provided a nice change of taste to just fish. My favorite was the yellowtail and otoro nigiri. Excellent service and the food is amazing. Highly recommend!!!
The sushi is made to order and quality is very high (i would say, it's perfect), since it's not a buffet style sushi place. That's awesome! Love the outside seating option and how all the tables are so spaced apart. Great atmosphere and friendly vibes. The rolls and sashimi were well made, fresh, and very flavorful and rich. Their fat rolls with tuna and salmon were the best ones. A+
To be 100% honest, I'm not a fan of expensive sushi places as I can't justify the price for amount of food, but Kissaki changed my mind! After today's meal, I can't see myself eating low quality sushi anymore. Super in love with this place. Everything is perfect, the pricing can be on the higher side, which is understandable considering the ingredients are pretty fresh and of an amazing quality. The presentation is beautiful with all the colors and array of food is a nice change for the palette while eating. The fish will be different depending on the season and chef, but the cuts of sashimi are huge and thick.
I suggested Kissaki for dinner when trying to plan a hangout with a friend I hadn't seen for years. She told me that they had amazing Japanese food... and after my dining experience there, I couldn't agree with her more. Although, the menu is on the pricier side, but this is one of those restaurants where you get what you pay for.I opted to share a spicy tuna roll and chirashi bowl. The fish was so fresh, so fatty, and so delicious. Plus, the service was pretty attentive and friendly. Looking back, I'm so glad I found this place! Go on Kissaki!
We came here since my friend knew this place and recommended to me. My usual gripe with sushi is how some restaurants will over-rice them and put on it a tiny bit of fish, but not with Kissaki. Sushi, Nigri, hand rolls were all made proportionate. The staff was attentive, informative, and real easy to talk with. Yellowtail tartare was definitely the best roll for me. I also liked the spicy tuna one.
I did a friends trip recently to Greenwich, and thankfully I'm friends with people that enjoy sushi. We had omakase at another place the night before, but I really wanted to try Kissaki, so we had two omakases during our trip! This place is so good. Fresh fish, perfectly seasoned. Sake was excellent. The staff made sure to let us know about special menu items and made timely check ins. All the nigiri sushi we ordered was great - there is a decent amount of rice that comes with it, but it's not too much. Also, the star for me was Crab and Cabbage salad. Amazing!
We are so excited to go back and try other things. What an incredible experience hosted by Kissaki and Head Chef Julia. She was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t speak highly enough about Chef Julia.Every dish was meticulously made and delicious. There was not 1 thing we could complain about. The atmosphere is eloquent and intimate. It allows your to appreciate the experience. The appetizer dishes we had we very very tasty with different textures in your mouth which was quite the mouthful! My friends I invited were worried we would be starving after this meal but that’s not how it works. This meal is designed to fill you and be completely content by the end of the meal. The nigiri was insanely fresh and very tasty. Everything about this meal was spot on! Thank you Kissaki and thank you Chef!!!!
I wanted to love the okakase at Kissaki but the experience left much to be desired — especially at that price point. When we arrived we had to wait about five minutes before we were seated. Nobody was in the restaurant except for the chef behind the counter. We were finally seated and waited 45 minutes after we ordered until we were served. The chef was busy preparing takeout orders while also preparing the omakase. While the nigiri tasted great, there was just nothing overly unique about anything the chef served. Certainly better than your average sushi, but not on par with the best omakase experiences in the city — and not worthy of that price point.
If you are looking for just an overall lovely evening out with the best sushi I’ve had in the USA, and overall a great experience, go to Kissaki! We went for our anniversary and we’re amazed at the quality of food and the experience. Trust me, the only bad part of this place is that you will crave it and want to go back and do it all again!
