I dine here frequently as I work right on the Avenue. My husband had friends coming in from out of state and I recommended this restaurant as I’ve always had great food and service, so he made a reservation. The food was excellent, our server was excellent, but I wanted to crawl out of my skin when I heard that upon sitting down they were told by the hostess we are on a time limit at our table. I was meeting them after work so this cut into that allotted time. This was both awkward and embarrassing. Had we known this upon making the reservation we would have gladly gone to any number of restaurants in Greenwich so I wouldn’t need to rush. Promptly 2 hours from when they arrived we were told what time it is and we need to leave. -Could you give us a minute to digest our appetizers, meals, drinks and dessert? I’ve been here many times when it’s packed wall to wall and I have never been asked to leave. I won’t be recommending this restaurant anymore to my many clients in town. I would never want them to feel the way we did.
Delicious super fresh fish. The tuna appetizer was amazing! On the expensive side, but everything has a fresh taste.
My best friend recommended this place and she knows great sushi, so I had to try it. Wow, finally! Delicious, fresh sushi close by! Everything was so good… especially the toro sushi, the fluke with shiso sushi, as well as the crispy toro rice and miso eggplant!Would skip the yellowtail taco (the yuzu sauce was too sweet), but the hit of the night was the chocolate lava cake. Oh my gosh. If you love chocolate, especially warm, decadent chocolate that’s served fresh, homemade, with vanilla ice cream and mint leaves, then you must get this. We sat at the sushi bar and loved seeing the chefs make all the dishes. Can’t wait to come back.5 stars!!!!
I ordered with Seamless. Order came on time and food great. I had the sweet potato croquettes, avocado rolls, edamame dumplings and salad. Dumplings were the best. The croquettes filling was like a gummy bear consistency. It wasn't bad but definitely different. Maybe they thickened on the ride and better in the restaurant. Flavor was good. I'd order from here again.
Fairly pricey but excellent, they definitely know the market they’re in
Great food, great ambiance and great staff
Loved Hinoki! Fun, upbeat vibe and fantastic, fresh sushi & sashimi. We got the Tuna Tartar, Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, Sushi Sashimi Combo, and Godzilla roll and all were so so good. I also ordered a cranberry/strawberry martini which was delicious. We went for dinner on Valentine’s Day and they had balloons everywhere, gave out roses and took Polaroid pictures which was really cute. Our server was super nice and helpful. We will definitely be back and also order takeout from here in the future!
Amazing! Two words SOUP DUMPLINGS
Attentive and pleasant service.
Know before you go:Like most good restaurants on the avenue when it’s warm out, you have to make a reservation way in advance to get outdoor (or even indoor!) seating. But yesterday, random February Wednesday, I decided to treat myself to a solo lunch and I must say everything was A1. Attentive and friendly staff. Clean tables dishes glasses and utensils. Great selection and delicious food. And! Food came out in good timing — I didn’t feel rushed or waiting too long, there was the perfect about of time spaced out in between dishes. It is a little pricey but it’s definitely worth it because this isn’t just your average tri state area Asian food court type take out spot. The ingredients are fresh, neatly prepared and steamy when served.I got these chicken goyzas the Greenwich roll and miso soup but next time I definitely want to try the lunch box it seemed to be a hit for the lunch rush.
