I was really surprised by this restaurant…Plan to spend 2 hours, 1-20 min to wait for food. Served bread but it was cold hard and chewy..fries were cold. If you like bland tasteless food this is the place to be. If you want to be dehydrated this is the place for you! No salt and pepper no napkins.. under trained staff and and staff standing around socializing. They could had went and refilled our drinks.. glasses sat empty for the whole time we were waiting for food and then had to ask for refills after food was delivered! They were just running food out but placing it at the wrong end of the table and leaving us to have to pass around the plates to the correct person around the table . Ran out of Coors light on a Saturday night.. We were not impressed for our first visit. I completely understand being short staffed but to have staff there who couldn’t help the waitress seemed pointless. Bathrooms.. toilet paper everywhere both times I went in. Overfilled trash. Bathroom door stall doesn’t lock so as I was peeing someone opened the door! How embarrassing!!! Was looking forward for a nice meal. There are plenty of other restaurants in Glastonbury to go. Shrimp scampi was tasteless very watery the shrimp tails were left on which for the price of a bowl of linguini full of capers and a few shrimps it was not good. Thank goodness we had good company.

One star rating for giving my wife food poisoning! Went to the First & Last Tavern last Thursday night (2/10/22) and, my wife got sick with Campylobacter (bacteria from chicken) from eating the honey hot chicken wings. My wife thankfully is currently recovering and spoke with the CDC after her test results came back from the hospital.Photo of the culprit of the Campylobacter vehicle in question.

Food was good. French fries were cold. But brought new hot and fresh ones out

A cold winter night calls for a winter meal…thinking lasagna and red wine… we are a couple and ordered lasagne and red wine. Sadly the lasagne was not delivered hot, like you want it in a cold night. It was delivered like your teenage kid threw it in the microwave for a couple minutes- even the second time after it was sent back. Definitely took away from having a nice night out. $20 a slice is a lot for cold lasagne …tasted good, but boooooo for the cold food.

I am sorry to give them a less than stellar review especially since we go there quite often. We brought some friends of ours last night for dinner and were hoping to wow them with a good experience. We got there at 7 pm and had to wait about 10 min to get a table. Once seated it took multiple requests to get silverware, water and plates. Our starters were cold by the time we got plate settings. And it wasn’t that the place was busy. Almost all tables were empty by 7:30.Our server spent more time chatting with friends at an adherent table instead of clearing our table and making room for pizzas. The food was the best past of our experience, till we got to deserts. We weren’t told till 9 pm that the kitchen closed at 8:30. We asked if they had any desserts and instead of saying no they served us 2 plates of frozen chocolate ganache. After complaining for the first time we got one of the desserts removed from the bill. We shouldn’t have paid for either. In summary, we don’t see us going there anytime soon till we start seeing better reviews on service.

I picked up 40 wings blacked. they were amazing first time there; I'll definitely be going back. The bar area was nice with good atmosphere.

wasn't impressed. server wasn't knowledgable, and seemed a bit too immature to be serving. you should be using "um" and "like" between every word you string together. i could tell by the neighboring tables reaction to their waitress that they were experiencing the same sort of issue. you can hire less attractive wait staff that is more respectful and knowledgable, than get poor reviews, and provide poor service with your "hottie" waitresses. seems like they hire beauty over brains. sorry, just being honest

Ordered a ceaser salad with chicken. Salad soggy and wilted. Chicken old and dry. Gave another chance ordetedveal Parm grinder dry, no sauce. Not worth the high price.

If I could give The First and Last a negative star rating, I would. We went to the Glastonbury restaurant for dinner tonight and simply stated, it was aweful. There were mutilple issues with food and service I'll start with the service but that was the least objectionable part of our experience even though it took almost 2 hours to get our food. First off, I called in advance to see if they could accomadate 5 people and to ask whether there would be a wait. I was told to come on down and there would be no wait. When we were seated, we had to ask for our silverware, we had to ask for bread and we had to ask for our drinks (3 waters, a seltzer water and an ice tea). In terms of the food, the bread was cold and hard and of course we had to ask for the olive oil. My wife ordered a Caesar salad that consisted of wilted warm lettuce, almost no dressing and grated cheese on half of the lettuce. My daughter ordered the house made raviolis and they were cold and under cooked, not Al dente but just half cooked. My son ordered the chicken parmesan, the ziti was cold and the chicken was tough. Finally my other son and I ordered the brocolli rabe with a side of sausage. Again the ziti was cold, the brocolli rabe was caked with cheese to the point that it looked like someone pressed the cheese into the brocolli rave, stepped on it, let it chill and then tried to stir that mess into the ziti. It was a cold mess. Finally the sausage was served sliced in a bowl floating in grease, over cooked and completely dried out. The only accurate description for my meal is to say that it was totally gross. As someone that worked in restaurants, I appreciate the challenges that exist. Because of that I am very sensitive to not be overly critical and have never written a review like this before. But in this case, I think I am still being too generous. As a consumer, I found the service and food insulting. I can only imagine, the experience would be even more insulting to the legacy and reputation of what the First and Last used to be. I'm sure the founders of the restaurant and management can only be disgraced by the service and food we were exposed to tonight. I'm not sure if this is indicative of all of their restaurants or just this location but I can guarantee you I will never visit this location again nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Not many gluten free options for lunch. A few GF options in the dinners and they do have GF pizza. The GF pizza is standard GF fair. Their sauce and toppings are good. No reactions from the GF pizza. Service was painfully slow on our visit, but this may be the same thing that all restaurants are going through and not a reflection of the staff.
