I attended this restaurant in 2017. Don't like the service there. The waitress and waiters even didn't show up except order. I think they didn't have a good manager, since the manager ask me to pay more tips when they provide a really poor service. When I refuse, the manager there argue with me and abuse me and my friends. The interesting thing is they served "white" customers friendly. I don't know if they are discrimination
I don't care for the highly and ignorant bar tender. He should probably keep is leftist opinions to himself, since what he is spouting off as facts are completely wrong.
I ordered the mongolian beef dinner and was very disappointed. The beef, while done well, was over-sweet. It had nothing other than the beef and onions and the sauce was very watery. Also, the portions were small and I was still hungry after. I dont think I will return.
I really want to like this place. I was ordering once every other week for a year and now Grubhub always says they are closed and will be open tomorrow but when I look tomorrow they are still closed. I understand that delivery orders are not a priority but either offer it or do not.
Excellent food. Hard to find this quality of Chinese cuisine in CT. Also check out the Shu and Han in Hartford, and the Song in West Hartford, all owned by the same organization
After reading reviews I decided to try Shu for takeout diner. All I can say as a long time Fairfield resident I cant believe I didn't find this place sooner. Wow ! I'm no expert on the 24 "traditional sauces" of Szechuan cooking but this place is authentic. Each dish has its on unique character and flavor profile. Everything was fresh and interesting. I am definitely going back to eat there.
Ambience and staff were nice and friendly for a garage looking area. Food tasted like the oil was old or burnt. Have had food in China, multiple regions. This was bland and at best fair. Level of kick or spice was ok. Cannot recommend as we only had two main dishes. But each seemed off.
Driving by this restaurant, I've been curious to try and since that first experience, I've been returning again and again! There is something great about a restaurant that doesn't hype itself up and just does food & service simple, warm & inviting! Shu has all of the foundations of a great place to enjoy great food: An inviting & warm, quiet atmosphere accommodating & caring waitstaff and an obvious attentiveness to serving the best food! All the food comes to the table looking like a piece of art and are filling and delicious! I highly recommend giving Shu a try! I guarantee you will return!
