Was excited that the restaurant was re opening after being closed for three months. Called on the phone and wanted to place an order for pick up. Menu looked like the old menu but missing some items so I went down there and looked at the new menu. Found out that the place is under new ownership and went inside and seams different. Took down so old time photos and no new decor. Whatever, ordered a steak from the new menu and it comes with two sides instead of two sides and add a side salad with it. Prices were not that outragous so ordered and went home, came back to pick up food and paid and went home. I asked for a medium steak and mashed potatoes, what I got was a grey in the middle steak, and there was no char on the outside. Potatoes were powered and the side salad well... I probably could of made one better. Staff was friendly but does not feel the same. Menu is different and some of my old favorites are not there anymore. Probably not coming back and should of ordered from Michael's Tap room. There steak comes with a side salad and veggys and potatoes and is 6 onces more than the ten once I got that had no sauce on it and no thrills. Good luck to new staff at Two Steps but not the same thank you. Will not be back.
Been a long time since we were here. Still a great place! Our server, Sandy, was just about the most pleasant and friendly server ever-not to mention very good at her job. The food was delicious-the coffee freshly brewed. Recommend!

The best fish and chips that I ever had!!
Ciao! Catering came very highly recommended from our venue (Lounsbury House). We spoke to a few different caterers but Tom immediately impressed us by already putting in work before we even hired him. He had us chose our favorites from their normal catering menu, and a proposed event menu, and a tasting before ever signing a contract.Tom and his daughter Kate were so impressive day-of the wedding! They took great control of the setup and executed all my little details to perfection. Kate was so thoughtful making sure we were always with a drink in our hand (including immediately following the ceremony) and the timing of the whole evening was on point! Our guests commented on how good the food was (seriously, the chicken AND the fish dishes were so good it made me question my "I always get the beef option at weddings" rule!!!)I couldn't recommend Tom and his team any more, we would easily go with them if we were to have to do this all over again. We also went to Two Steps Downtown Grille for our 'negative one year anniversary' to celebrate - the food at the restaurant was also delicious and they have a lovely outdoor space for dining!

My husband and I had our wedding reception for 50 guests at historical downtown Two Steps. The venue was amazing. The fire truck hanging from the ceiling, the architecture and stain glass windows are beautiful. Artifacts from the Danbury State Fair hang on the walls. The staff was incredible to work with, they accommodated our every need and the food and the service was impeccable. We are so happy to have had this positive experience on our special day. We will continue to frequent the restaurant and would highly recommend this venue to anyone planning an event. Carolyn and Dave
