Quality has gone down hill.. shame on me for not knowing Augie sold it. I just ordered a 4 topping pizza… it came with barely any toppings but cheese.. so much cheese when you separated the slices, the cheese ripped right off. Someone also mentioned tasteless pizza and they’re right.. So gross and NOT #1..so many other places in Danbury area to order ITALIAN pizza from!
Terrible! Parents took us all out for Mother's Day, they always ordered Pizza for take-out, and decided to take us to dine in. The experience: Waitress was very impersonal, barked questions, and wasn't to be seen. 40 mins after ordering, my mother waited enough & got up to find out where our food was. (there were a few other patrons there) Food came, pizza was tasteless like eating "air" not filling. My son's meatball sandwich was falling apart, the meatball was literally mushy and falling apart. My father couldn't finish the chicken wrap, my mother's crispy chicken salad was ordered incorrectly and ended up being a poor salad. Son in law's pasta alfredo was tasteless and couldn't finish it, which surprised all of us because he always finishes his food. Just terrible, uncomfortable to see everyone's disappointment like that. Shame Augies.. shame.
Ordered Augies from Uber eats, and the food was great which i ordered Broccoli’s pasta with Garlic and oil but I was disappointed that the meal that I ordered didn’t come with the salad and the Italian bread as they advertised on their menu. Called the restaurant and the gentleman that took care of my order he didn’t even try giving me a credit or even sending out another Uber driver to deliver the rest of my order. Thought they could’ve at least try to send someone back out to deliver the salad and bread even though it may sound like a minor issue, after spending $50 I would prefer to get what I paid for
AMAZING meatball grinder. I am often hesitant to order a meatball grinder because I am very Picky. Taste texture and sauce needs to be just right. I have ordered many dinners from Augies but never a grinder until today and they did not disappoint!
Great good, good prices. Always have enough to take home half your meal. Favorites are chicken pizziola and shrimp parmigiana. Zucchini and mozzarella sticks are also delicious! Friendly staff too.
Terrible service. I went here for the first time a few months ago after receiving a gift card. I had to sit there for 10-15 minutes because the person at the register couldn't figure out how to ring me out with the gift card. A manager walked by, said the cashier had to do something she "couldn't help because she was too busy." I was told I'd have to wait for the owner to come in to show the person how to do it, but they eventually figured it out after 10-15 minutes.I still had a balance on the gift card, so I went back last week and ordered two grinders. I wanted one with mayo and one without. The guy on the phone kept saying "mayo on both?" and I had to correct him multiple times. I picked up my food and made the mistake of assuming it was correct and drove an hour home. Turns out both grinders were SMOTHERED in mayo, meaning my husband couldn't eat his. I called that night and was told by the manager on duty that I could get replacement grinders this week, since I live an hour away so delivering new food wasn't practical. Tonight, I tried to get that food, and was told that they would in fact not be replacing my food, and that they would at most give me 10% off another grinder order. Absolutely terrible customer service.
The food is excellent. Everyone is so nice and great service every time.We come for lunch or dinner a few times a month.
What’s going on with Augies’s kitchen lately? Did someone leave or something? We ordered calzones via take-out about 3 weeks ago and there wasn’t any ricotta cheese in them! Well we decided to give it another chance. EVEN WORSE! Though they remembered to put ricotta in the calzones this time they forgot the pepperoni on the pizza, the extra sauce for the calzones, and ruined the creamy French onion soup by putting a ton of giant croutons in it instead of a nice piece of Italian bread that they used to do when Augie owned it. Remember not to tip before completely checking your order. We won’t be back.
By far the best pizza in Danbury. All of their Italian food is delicious . Friendly staff and good prices.
My wife ordered a steak and cheese wrap on the menu says it’s supposed to come with steak cheese onions peppers and mushrooms and yet there was only steak and cheese , greasy steak at that which was spilling everywhere . She called and the OWNER gave her an attitude and said he was NOT going to make a new order because She should have told him She wanted the veggies ???? Owner was Super rude and nasty we have never experienced this ever in our life’s. Please don’t eat here the food sucks the pizza tasted like nothing and the owner is rude.
