We ordered fried chicken breasts with a pint of mashed potatoes. Food was great. Staff if very friendly and helpful. Will be back.
Have gone here for years. Food is not good anymore. Chicken did not have any flavor, potato salad also was tasteless.Very very disappointed!
Not the Greer’s we’ve had since the 70’s. Poor quality food, potato salad is overpowered with pickle taste. Inside of the place painted black..unwelcoming at best. Like they are out of money. And that’s always a question of quality. What the heck are they serving? Sorry not good
Tender, juicy chicken with a light crispy outside. The gravy is delightful. tastes like the broth of Chicken noodle soup but light saucy type gravy. (Not thick). Clam strips are OUT OF THIS WORLD. sweet batter, nice wholesome bite to it. I just wish they had lemons to provide. Mashed potatoes were thick and creamy. So smooth to the tongue. Light salt just to compliment the taters. Rotisserie chicken had no flavor. Didn't taste salt to help the cooking process so it was bland BUT the chicken was juicy and pull apart tender. They know what they are doing. Staff is polite and super friendly. 5 stars is deserved.
Chicken is very good but the portions are very small. 4 pieces of chicken used to feed two, but our last visit 4 pieces fed one.
I mean.. if you guys like tasteless and overcooked chicken sure. Am I taking crazy pills? How are there so many 5 stars for the chicken. Crispy skin sure, but the batter tastes like nothing at all. Literally no spices or even salt. They even overcooked the dark meat.. how could you?! Oh the humanity.I love me some fried chicken, a family size bucket easy peasy, no problem. This is not authentic Southern fried chicken, no amount of hot sauce could save it.. :(
On Feb 13 2022, I ordered 3 breast of chicken, an order of hot wings, plus honey wings. Everything was horrible. Breast of chicken had no flavor what so ever.The honey wings had a foul taste to it.*Update*That same night, myself and the wife ended up with diarrhea.
Greers has excellent fried chicken! They also have plenty of salads the variety includes macaroni & chicken. Chocolate cake slices many items that are the best in the City of Bristol!
One of our favorites for take-out. Through the change of owners, the quality and loved recipes were maintained and customer service is always great.
I have a peanut allergy and my husband fish/shell fish. We have become accustomed to asking about the type of oil used to fry foods in because many places like 5 guys and sonic use peanut oil, but we noticed some fish products offered on the menu and asked do they fry the chicken separately. The nice young man asked and THEY CROSS CONTAMINATE FRYING THE CHICKEN AND FISH IN THE SAME FRYERS!!! If we had not asked it would have been life threatening. It would have been an epipen shot followed by a hospital visit. So, anyone that might have had a reaction after eating here and wondered, gee I only had the chicken, this is why. I thought it was against Connecticut food sanitation rules to cross CONTAMINATE but this is not the first time we found that this happens. A few other smaller fast food places also do this. Bottom line, ask please and don't assume if you get the chicken you also won't be tasting shrimp and other fishy items.
