Best meatballs in CT, but everything is delicious. Great people, great food. Don't miss this little gem.
Beautiful food service ans I was able to sit outdoors!!
Outstanding restaurant, food and service. Pasquele is a wonderful host. Cannot wait to come back.
Great Italian spot convenient to the Bijou theater where we were headed next. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Prices were good.
We have tried to support ‘A Vucchella mostly out of appreciation for Pasquale the owner and the fact that it is such charming place in downtown Bridgeport. The place has been struggling during the pandemic as many have. The menu has become stagnant and the food inconsistent at best. We recently tried again and unfortunately have decided that our patience and support are exhausted. No one wants to go out to dinner and watch grossly overburdened staff desperately struggling to serve patrons. Unfortunately, this is not a rare occurrence. Last night when we arrived we found one waitress, greeting customers, tending bar, taking orders, serving tables for about 35 people with more coming in. One bus person was doing their best to help. Miraculously, Our order was taken fairly promptly and was prepared quickly. Unfortunately, I would say that our two dinners were completely unacceptable. We just didn’t have the heart to send them back. I had ordered a chicken franchise, thinking that it was simple and wouldn’t be challenging for the kitchen on a busy evening. I received a generous portion of the toughest pounded chicken breast I have ever encountered. Completely overcooked. My date ordered a spaghetti dish described as containing zucchini. Whatever had been done to the zucchini rendered it unrecognizable as a vegetable. Literally, no recognizable structure or color other than a brown bitter mess mixed with spaghetti. We actually sent it back, convinced that we had received the wrong order but we were assured it was correct. We did not argue but didn’t eat it either. So Pasquale, we tried but we’ve just feel that it’s time to wish you and your family the best of luck.
There should be a line waiting out the door for this place , it's that good.
Outstanding cuisine & attentive service. Best Italian dishes in the area!
The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
This my second review after I got a personal tour of the wood burning oven that came from Italy. Not just any brick oven will do for this place. Pasquale explained the way the bricks absorb the heat vs reflect which, when combined with the dough with flour from Italy (of course) you get a pizza (among other dishes) that make you want to cry! Love this place!
We went in for pizza and really enjoyed the entire experience. The food was delicious as was their homemade pannecotta and tiramisu. The owner was very friendly and there was a nice ambiance throughout the restaurant. We loved it and are looking forward to going back.
