Very friendly server who was helpful in helping me explain the menu to my companion (who mainly spoke Spanish). Tasty food in generous portions. Clean, cozy space, and not crowded when we went (5:30 p.m. on a Friday). The sound of singing from their bar next door was hilarious. It's great that they have it separate, that way it's just a fun hint of atmosphere.

Great Portuguese spot. Order Carne Alentejana and don't look back. Polish it off with a nice red wine and some espresso and ask for extra rolls for the liquid -trust me, it will haunt your dreams in a good way. For the kids get Sumol, if the waiter recommends orange over pineapple ask for a different waiter.

Very, very scrumptious dinner experience. Flaming Chorizzo started it off. The kids got chicken meals that made me second guess my Filet meal, the chicken was so good. Lovely waitress and staff made us feel like we were family. Would definitely come here again next time we visit CT.

This restaurant isn't portuguese anymore. The service was great but the food and menu were entirely brazilian. The one star is for two reasons: The food wasn't great at all, and the fact that the restaurant is claiming to be portuguese. The reason they haven't rebranded is because the establishment has been around for over 40 years and they're taking credit for the previous ownership.

This restaurant smells so good ? sounds silly but for me it's half the experience

The best Portuguese food around

My husband and I love Portuguese food. Saturday night, we decided to go to Bridgeport and have dinner at Omanel Restaurant. From the moment we walked in the door, we were made to feel welcome. Lisa, our server was exceptionally welcoming and competent. The food was authentic, perfectly cooked, fresh and tasty. We liked everything we ordered. We both had Ameijoas a Bulhao de Pato as an appetizer. What a delight! The Portuguese bread they gave us was perfect to soak up every bit of the garlicky sauce they were cooked in. Much to my surprise, the sauce had cilantro; I always expect Portuguese food to have parsley instead of cilantro. It was good, however, and definitely not overwhelming. My husband had grilled balcalhau with potatoes and vegetables on the side. I ordered one of the specials, which consisted of a variety of seafood in a tomato sauce. It came with white rice on the side.We shared a flan and had espresso for the perfect ending to this delicious meal. The portions were big.The ambiance was pleasant. We plan to return and hope that Lisa will be our server again.

EXTREMELY nice food and the staff is amazing.Couldn't ask for more.

Really nice karaoke restaurant!
