Amazing! The food is perfect! And the experience was one of a kind
1st time and I think last time going to eat there. We had the calamari appetizer and 2 seafood boils. Not sure if the shrimp was cooked properly. Had a strange taste and would not come out of the shells. Lobster tail was the same way.Sat in the bar area. Our waitress that took our order and was Non Existent after that, even after we got our food. Did not give us anything to put our shells in. Never came around to take things off the table even though it was piling up. Was only given 3 napkins and she never came to see if we needed fresh ones.Then we sat and continued to listen to some wait staff sitting at the back wall complaining about work. Bartender apologized for service and was the one that finished my order and refreshed our drinks.Staff needs better training and needs to check on customers More Often!
Went to @hookandreelwestminster for lunch. It was really good and the server was very friendly and attentive. I had the Cajun Boil [1/2lb crawfish 1/2lb black mussels, 1/2lb head off shrimp, 1 corn, 2 new potatoes] with the mild original Cajun sauce and I added 1/2lb sausage. Everything was really good. Sauce was great, and I really liked the sausage. Nothing was over cooked and everything seemed fresh. I will have to go back.
Our first time at this restaurant, we'll be back... Hang on to your wait staff there great!!! The bar and kitchen staff not so much... Teach them to read...
Our family has fallen in LOVE with Hook & Reel and it seems to be our new go to for family celebrations and date nights. Food, service and drinks have always been amazing. The staff is friendly, attentive and always on point. Very family friendly (our 2 year old has gained a love for calamari) and it’s nice to see the owners as active as their staff when it comes to checking in on their customers. Would highly recommend!
My shrimp basket was delicious, as was the lobster bisque. My friends loved their oysters, and the catfish basket was enjoyed by my friends, but the sweet potato fries were cold and needed to be made again, and my friend's soup was not warm enough. Anthony was greatvabout trying to get things warmed up.
My mom, aunt, and I went here for an early dinner on a Monday night. We were seated promptly and the staff was nice. Our waiter was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. Among our table we had mozzarella sticks, coconut shrimp, fried shrimp, Cajun fries, oysters with spicy seasoned garlic butter, fried lobster with lobster bisque, and a garlic butter boil with shrimp & crab. Everything we tasted was hot and fresh. The flavors and spices were quite yummy! One issue I’d like point out was bathroom cleanliness was lacking. Everything else was great. The prices make sense for the product as we are in a land locked state. Overall, I would highly recommend this establishment!
The service at the bar was SO bad. We sat here for 30 minutes before we got a drink and by that time our table was about ready. The food was very good but we got head off instead of head on shrimp which was a bummer. Our server was great though and overall I enjoyed the place.
We had an amazing dinner there last night! It was only our second visit (we were seated at the same table as our first visit by total coincidence). The staff was great and our waiter was totally awesome! He was so great my 7 yr old told him he was the greatest waiter ever! ?. They have several flavor options for their boils and then you tell choose how much heat you want from mild to fire. I spilt my “create your own” boil with my sister and daughter and we were all full, and there was still potatoes and corn on the cob left to eat!!! So the portions are very big. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! My sister doesn’t like seafood but she tried some there and found that she LOVES their black mussels!
food was good, service was decent, the advertisement did not match the food served, advertisement said 1.5 lbs shrimp, and it was only .5 lbs of shrimp, will come back but will verify what I'm ordering. ordered lobster bisque 3 times and never got it, at least it wasnt on the bill...
