It's good sushi but the cost is pretty crazy. But I guess you pay for the experience and location and...eh what am I saying it was way to much in my book. But to each there own.
I've been coming to Happy Sumo for years and they're consistently good. All the specialty sushi rolls are great, the sashimi is fresh, there's plenty of grill options if you don't want anything raw, and they are great with dietary restrictions. I took a friend who eats dairy free and they'll take any sauce/cream cheese out upon request, and they also have a small menu that shows you which sauces contain gluten. It's usually very fast service and friendly wait staff. My favorite specialty rolls are the diva and the alaska roll! ?
I always love the sushi! My fiancé and I always choose to go here on date nights. ? this last time we were there the server was very attentive but wasn't the friendliest. But that's okay, still love this place every time.
Been here before but couldn't remember anything special. The staff is friendly. The first table we sat at was wobbling. Yes spicy tuna is supposed to have spice in it, but it shouldn't be so spicy that you couldn't enjoy the flavor of tuna. The fried rice was a nice portion but the chicken in the fried rice was dry and a little chewy.
I am very picky about my sushi, but there is nothing I can say about this place other than WOW! Love the sushi, love the staff, and the environment is relaxing. Not the most lavish of decor but that’s not why you come here. You come for the sushi! I highly recommend the Mango Mama and the Samurai, you will not be disappointed! Friendly and attentive staff makes the experience very pleasant.
Great food and service, about a 15 min wait to be seated (weekend after Valentines day so reasonable) Great vibe for a date so mostly couples. Lions king (far right) was great although I have had it with a little more crunch on top at other places and the Planko Roll with jalapeño was really good too (far left). Calamari appetizer was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all so liked that too. Area is nice to walk around too before or after.
Exterior looked appealing so we were exited for our first visit. Interior looks like a typical restaurant. SERVICE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT!! Workers seemed annoyed, not interested in. I felt more welcomed at Chick-fil-A. Food was delicious!
We got takeout. Sushi is decent but we were very underwhelmed with sizes of the rolls. Usually the basic rolls are pretty small and we’re fine with that. But the special rolls that are double the price of basic rolls were the same size as basic rolls and missing ingredients listed on their menu. Also ordered the miso soup the container is about two fingers deep and was filled half way, so I got about five spoon fulls of soup before it was gone. We probably won’t be back.
Gilbert absolutely killed it as our waiter and my compliments to the chef as well our food was immaculate. Can't wait to go back.
The server was kind but the service hardly existed. Was extremely slow. Seemed like the girls were more concerned about their phones. The hostess did her job was on her phone a lot too but put it down because she never missed a customer. The spicy edamame tasted like red hot with ketchup. The rest of our meal was delicious and beautifully prepared.
