Our favorite Asian food in the Westminster area to date. We've struggled to find an Asian restaurant we like since moving here, but Asian Bistro has become our new go-to. The service is fast and friendly. Even on a weekend night, there usually isn't too much of a wait. The food is flavorful, portions are large, and the presentation is appetizing. I like that I can order a curry (Panang is my favorite), while my husband can order more standard Chinese fare like Kung Pao Chicken. My one critique is that the chicken has that slight-rubbery taste you get at a lot of Asian restaurants (maybe it's just a cooking technique that does this?), so I've started to prefer vegetarian dishes and sushi (California rolls are good). Tried the miso soup last time too, and it was surprisingly good. I'm used to the broth being a bit bland, but it was very flavorful.
Would give a 4.5/5 if I could. Really impressed with the quality of the fish here. Especially for a land locked state! Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. Nothing was fishy/pungent. Everything was smooth and the salmon was almost creamy. The food was ready pretty quickly. Downsides: Our waiter seemed inexperienced so I’d take off .5 stars for that and for the salad dressing’s sweetness. Otherwise overall very good for what it is and not too expensive. My chirashi bowl had a very good amount of sashimi—I was surprised. And it all tasted great! Definitely would recommend!
Best place in our neighborhood!
I heard good things from some family members about this restaurant and we live just down the road so decided to give it a try tonight. The space was much larger than expected and well decorated and inviting. We were happy to get seated right away at one of the very few available tables and the menu looked great too.We received waters from someone about 5 minutes in and said our server would be right over. There is a large menu to look through so we were fine waiting 5-10 minutes to make some decisions. Another 15 minutes went by and the tables around us who were seated after us all had received drinks and service and we still had not. After about 20 minutes of sitting there we decided to leave. Menu and space looked great so I’m disappointed to say we will not return here due to the experience we had tonight.
giving 2 stars because their sushi is so amazing and their lunch deals are great, but the atmosphere and staff are absolutely awful. good food should come with good service. i waited 10 minutes to be helped even thought there was no one in the restaurant and i could see my pick up order sitting right in front of me, but still the lady who came up to help me was extremely rude. i think this place should find an all new staff besides the chefs, who seem to be the only ones who can get anything right
Solid choice. Our waiter, Patrick, has an excellent professional attitude. Move on to management or follow your bliss and be successful.I'm a fan of a good kitchen and these folks didn't let me down - even though we walked in with 30 minutes left till close. Lesser types would phone it in and shank the entire effort, wanting to get out early.Thanks. We'll see you again.
We attempted to give East Moon a second or third chance tonight, but they have officially lost our business for good. A quick recap in why we even needed to give them another chance. Many months ago, we came in. First we waited for 20 minutes to be seated, not a problem at all. But then the server more or less ignored us, served all the tables besides us. Maybe he was expecting a bigger tip from them because of being a larger party, not sure. Either way when we finally got him to come back after the initial introduction he took our order and after an hour plus of waiting for sushi (again watching others who ordered after us being served). We wanted refill on our drinks… can’t find the server. Needless to say horrible experience. Excuse we are given. We are sorry we are understaffed in the kitchen.Few weeks ago, let’s try again. Show up. Closed, no note on the door, nothing.Try again tonight. Told we have a 40 min wait. About 30 min In no one in the packed area has left. Watched a delivery driver be told 4x food not ready despite the app saying otherwise. When finally pushed to check, the food is suddenly ready. Soon after watch 2 people check on their spot and wait. Oh you have 40 min. Customer says that’s what you said 40 min ago. Another customer asks. Similar response. Another pick up comes in, it’s not ready yet. we are sorry it’s just tonight. We finally made the decision to leave. Clearly not just tonight. Clearly a mismanaged restaurant and kitchen. I understand Covid is impacting restaurants and staff but others seem to be able to manage without making these mistakes. I’m sorry it’s not an excuse.
Very good overall. Best thing was the hot seafood appetizer and the sushi. Ordered tons of food. Everything was really good. Service was amazing! ? My main dish was rice noodles w/chicken and curry and even though the menu said spicy, it was kind of bland. That's my only real complaint. Went for lunch at noon on Saturday and the place was almost empty. Got a seat immediately and had great service. Wife and I ordered way too much food. Was expecting to pay $100 but the bill was $57 so reasonable prices everything considered.
Amazing food. The Basil Chicken or Harbor Moon are GREAT dishes. This has become our fav Asian Restaurant of all time. Very beautiful inside. Best service. Sarah was our amazing server who gave my mom a wonderful birthday surprise. The host at the front was VERY polite and helpful
We went to East Moon last night with friends and couldn't have been more pleased with the entire experience. The woman who seated us who was in charge was absolutely lovely as was our server. The food was great, well priced, and we felt like family. Thanks East Moon for a great dining experience! We will definitely be returning more often. :0)Julie and Kosta Callas
