Food was okay. Ordered of smothered bean burrito beans were decent chili was a chili I never had before and it was not the best but it was okay. Service is extremely slow. If you have somewhere to be and a couple hours from the time you eat then I suggest not go here. There was two of us as I stated smothered bean burrito my friend got Tacos and it took 42 minutes.
Habanero margarita spicy delicious. Queso spicy great. Fried chicken taco great. Chips and salsa amazing.
I had lunch with my husband here on a Friday mid afternoon. My experience was kind of disappointing. When we arrived, it was not busy. Maybe 2 or 3 other tables occupied. Staff looked kind of bored. We were seated immediately. We both ordered beers. I ordered the 3 taco plate (chicken) and he ordered the #14 (taco, burrito, enchilada). The food came out in maybe 5 minutes, which was a little surprising, but in retrospect makes sense as it's not very good. Bland, boring, not enough salt or spices. It's Mexican food for white people from the midwest who think pepper is spicy. It wasn't bad, to be fair. It hit the spot and left us full. But seeing a 4.6 star rating, I expected it to be more like Dos Santos in Denver, or Rio Grande in Boulder. Not even close. Also, our beers never came out. We ate our whole meal and still nothing. I asked the waitress, who didn't even offer an apology. At least she didn't add them to our bill. The one thing this place does right is the salsa and chips. Those things were fresh as heck and the salsa was the only part of our experience that tasted even remotely authentic. The service was poor too. Despite being super empty, it took us almost 30 minutes to have our plates bused, and another 15 to process payment on my credit card. No idea why. A word that comes to mind is, inattentive.Overall, not super impressed and probably won't be back. Save your money for Rio Grande.
When I have eaten in the food is sometimes mediocre- sometimes good and the service is always slow. When I ordered take-out (twice) the food is mediocre. First I ordered enchiladas with green chili and was given red. I complained about it when I placed my 2nd takeout order a week later. The owner replied with a shrug of her shoulders that it depended on who took the order. Huh?? The second order of enchiladas (cheese and onion) with green chili had so little chili that one enchilada had none on it. The other about a tablespoon. Plus the cheese was barely melted and there were no onions. I immediately called and spoke to the owner. She pretended not to understand my complaint and asked if I wanted to order another. (I could hear her repeating my complaint to another worker in Spanish so she understood me.) Fortunately I’m fluent in Spanish and told her in Spanish that I overheard her conversation. This upset her. She said curtly “come back to the restaurant and I will give you another”. When I said I was, after a long exhausting and rainy day, too tired to return and would rather have an apology than food, she replied “Maybe you find another restaurant for Mexican food.” Such unnecessary rudeness..SMH
This is absolutely our favorite Mexican place. The margaritas are strong, food is flavorful, and the salsa is hot! It stays busy so there may be a wait but it’s worth it. Only thing I wish is it was open a little later, 9 PM for a weekend night is too early but I get it being a family establishment.
My partner and I loved this place, and then we came for brunch and…wow. Excellent drink menu, great staff, and amazing food. Parking can be tight but worth the effort! The green chili is excellent.
I wanted to like this place but food just wasn't that good. Taco meat was salty, rice was crunchy, cheese in enchilada was so thick and stringy I nearly choked on it. Hubby liked his crispy chili rellenos. Service was good.
We were there Friday, April 29th, and it was busy...we waited for our seat and were put in a booth. Before we even got to dessert, we were asked to leave...at that point we were totally confused, the table next to us, seated at the same time, was never asked to leave...We will not return again, due to this lack of respect...
I enjoyed the meat and rice for the most part. But everything else on the dish I ate (which isn't peppers or spicy) was spectacular!
The chips and salsa was good. The Jalapeño and Blue Azul Margarita was very smooth. Spinach Enchilada, with Mole, and Mexican Skillet was delicious. Service was kind of slow but the food was good.
