Really good katsu chicken and mac salad. Also solid musubi. If you're craving Hawaiian, come here. Staff is super nice. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Portions are also HUGE, so keep that in mind when ordering. Certainly not a bad thing with their fair pricing! If you see any negative reviews on here, most of those reviewers probably just don't like anything besides "New American". Pro tip--you can see what they thought about other places, too. Give this place a try and see for yourself.
So mad at myself for not trying this place sooner. It was absolutely delicious. Good prices for decently sized portions. All of it was fresh and my kids tried a little bit of everything but they loved it too, which is great since they're picky eaters. Looking forward to the next time.
Wow, this was absolutely God awful. I don't even know what it was I was supposed to be eating. I got chicken Katsu and the chicken was so bad. idk what it was but it was disgusting. Texture, taste, no no. The sauce was also pretty gross, really sweet with a weird after taste. Macaroni salad was bland and tasteless. For all the amazing reviews this place had, I was really surprised by how awful it actually was. I brought home the entire plate basically to my husband because I could not eat it, and the human garbage disposal couldn't eat it either! Would not recommend.
I was stationed at Pearl Harbor for 4 years, and Hawaii is in my blood now. I've been back several times since getting out. And Hawaiian plate lunch is a family favorite. This is the BOMB! Pure local kine food.Everything we had was excellent. As good as any plate lunch I had in the Islands. We got several orders of Chicken Katsu (a family favorite), and I splurged and hot the Loco Moco. It's an absolutely guilty pleasure... and an acquired taste. But they nailed it.Make sure to order extra helpings of the Macaroni Salad. Oh. Yum.Don't let the hole-in-the-wall location stop you. This is authentic, pure local braddah food. Best plate lunch in the northern Denver area, and a lot easier to get to than getting on a plane.
Great local family-owned small restaurant feel with a dash of Hawaiian/Asian cultures. The food was unique, flavorful and fresh with ample portions. The service was helpful, kind, and hand delivered the food prepackaged to go to the table. Definitely a highlight of Thorton's local restaurants.
Consistently wonderful comfort food. I order delivery from this place 2-3 times each month when I want something easy and delicious. Jon typically orders the chicken katsu, teriyaki, or BBQ pork while I've gotten the spam misubi, popcorn chicken, Kahlua pork, gyoza, and friend squid. I have never been let down. I usually add Korean hot sauce to taste, but that is just my personal preference. Overall, 100% recommend.
Really good food, lots of local options, servings are quite generous, will absolutely return. Many things left to try. Teri beef, and pork marsh were the favourites of what we grabbed. One of the few Hawaiian food places in Colorado serve some of their options, manapua being a prime example. Small space, busy enough though.
Grate some onion in the Mac and use white pepper instead of black pepper. It makes a WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE. I’m just telling you from experience. Like, I get all happy to hit that Mac, then I’m let down. The chicken Teriyaki is bomb. ??? Coming from a Filipina who frequents Hawaii. ??
Okay so the store front is a bit misleading and the inside looks like someone’s store closet but the food was AMAZING. The Hawaiian BBQ was to die for( pretty sure someones Grammy is cooking in the back). The spam musubi was delicious. Now the BBQ bun were soft and full of flavor. Yes I will be driving my butt all the way to this treasure and I recommend you do too. Oh steer clear of the boba smoothies. The strawberry one was terrible. Who knows the other flavors could be good.
We stopped in for milk tea with boba. The place had a cool vibe to it, and we put in our order. What we received was milk tea in slushy form. Not what the picture showed in the restaurant and not what we wanted. We decided to give it a try and it just wasn’t very good. My gal threw hers away after a few sips. I put my taro drink in the fridge when we got home. I came back to it later and it had melted a bit and wasn’t as bad. Disappointed overall.
