foods are so salty and for the price,it is not worthy to eat here..find another place to eat....will not come back...;(

Looking to pop in while my crew was on the slopes and have a nice, quick meal. God love them - the entire restaurant was in disarray. They took orders multiple times by different people. The soup came out after the entree. They couldn’t figure out how to make the tea on their own menu, so I had them switch my drink to a coke. They brought the wrong food to the table behind me, and couldn’t figure it out until after leaving the food sitting in front of the wrong people. My food just wasn’t good. The fried rice was really more brown rice. The hot sour soup I couldn’t eat more than the first bite of and the cashew chicken tasted off which made me stop eating. {sigh} I was certainly hoping for better.

Three out of four of us asked for a sauce on our steamed veggies. All four of us saw a charge for $3.50 on our bill for sauce. We were never warned it would cost anything. I complained to the waitress about the lack of warning and excessive price and said if she didn't refund me the 3.50 I would file a chargeback. She said "Go ahead, that is our cost." I can buy a bottle of peanut sauce at Walmart for $3 (15 cents a serving). I was very disappointed in the customer service. The food was fine and the Happy Hour menu had some low cost items. She gave the person who didn't order peanut sauce a refund on her 3.50.

We got takeout here for our last vacation dinner. We ordered 8 items for 5 people with no customizations other than spice level. The sushi was pretty good, so kudos to their sushi chef. It took 2 other employees quite a while to put the order into their system after they took it. We ordered veggie dumplings and were specifically asked if we wanted them fried or steamed. Apparently, those never got put into the order (so at least we didn't pay for something we didn't get). I ordered the "dragon and phoenix" specialty dish (1/2 sesame chicken, 1/2 "sauteed" shrimp dish + broccoli). There's a small chance the shrimp was actually sauteed, but I highly doubt it. My wife ordered tofu pad thai, which was mediocre. The worst part was the spice level. It was correct on the hand written order stapled to our bag: #1 (of 5) for the pad thai and #4 for mine. The pad thai had a fair amount of heat, but mine had none whatsoever. So either they got the 2 backwards or they have no clue what spicy Thai food is. I had just purchased a bottle of hot sauce from a nearby store that I was pouring on quite liberally just to get some heat. A very minor thing I'll add is that they only put in 3 fortune cookies. I ordered this in person with my 3 kids, so maybe they just thought only the kids wanted them, but that seems silly. Overall, this was a pretty big disappointment and we won't be going here again when we come back to Steamboat Springs.

Did a takeout dinner here and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We did the Kung Pao chicken and added Hot & Sour soup and egg rolls. The Kung Pao was good and loaded with chicken and vegetables with a very pleasing sauce. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am writing this since there were several negative reviews and I wanted to put this back in the plus column. We would definitely go back again.

My favorite dish is pad Thai, so I decided to give this restaurant a try. The pad Thai was fine and the portion side was good, but it just didn’t taste the same as most everywhere else I go. I probably had pad Thai at 50 different restaurants. They did have plenty of chicken in it and I also added shrimp that was also good.

This restaurant has been consistently disappointing since the new management a few years ago. Hope it improves.

We visited Sambi in 2019 and found the food good but the service totally sub-par. Last evening we came in for Happy Hour after a 5 hour drive without stopping for lunch, so we were pretty hungry. All the tables were empty, so we chose the corner window table. Our server, Serena was friendly and fairly attentive. We ordered a carafe of hot sake and an assortment of appetizers on the HH menu. The duck, bacon and cream cheese dumpling were good, but they were fried and I was anticipating steamed. The seafood salad was delicious. The Combo Nigiri plate came next, and we were told that they were out of hamachi so they had subbed a piece of shrimp. After looking the plate over we called Serena back and said that we didn't want the plate. The salmon, tuna and red snapper looked like they had not been freshly cut and were a little dry on the edges. The halibut and another white fish looked like scraps, they weren't properly cut and the shapes were random. All the fish was a bit off-color. Also, the balls of rice under each piece of fish were humongous, about twice the normal ratio. We didn't have high expectations for the rest of the sushi, but fortunately they were a bit better. The salmon avocado roll was alright, but the avocado looked like it had been sliced much earlier and had started oxidizing. There wasn't much salmon in it at all. The sushi rice tasted and smelled like plain rice, no rice vinegar added, so bland and not properly prepared. The spicy tuna and salmon roll was the best item we had there. The sushi chef stopped by our table and asked how things were and we were honest with her. She said that her knife must be dull but insisted that everything had been freshly cut, then walked away with an eye roll she didn't try hard to hide. Now for the health violations--the lamp shade over our table was completely filthy. And since the door was open and a fan over the counter was on high speed, the chance of that dust falling onto our food and drinks was highly likely. I'm also pretty sure that the fan hanging there blowing into the kitchen was a violation as anything picked up from the air is going straight onto the food being prepared. We also noticed that there were a couple of trays of crispy noodles and sweet and sour sauce that had been pre-portioned and were being stored UNCOVERED under a counter only inches from the floor where anything kicked up from someone walking by would land directly on those noodles. I don't like leaving negative reviews as I was in the restaurant industry for a number of years and I know how hard it is. But my last review for Sambi said we wouldn't be back and I neglected to read it before coming and I had forgotten about the terrible experience we had the first time.

We picked this restaurant while strolling early evening in downtown Steamboat. It looked family friendly, and several restaurants did not. The owner was very outgoing, and spoke of his experience as a chef and travels to Thailand. All our food was ready quickly and steaming hot. Our chinese dishes (moo shu pork and garlic vegetables w/eggplant) were very good, and I was glad they offered brown rice, even if for an upcharge. Unfortunately, the drunken noodle and pad Thai our kids ordered were lacking in flavor and sauce, and were mostly just sweet noodles. I'd recommend new recipes. Despite this, we felt welcomed to Steamboat Springs by the hosts, and appreciated the pleasant conversation they made with us after our meal.

Good dinner on nye in steamboat. Short notice but as a counter to all the negative reviews, good dinner and attentive, friendly service. Dinner focused on the Chinese side of the menu. Went with level “3” on schezuan dinner. More than enough spice for the average dinner. Really enjoyed dinner and would return
