We needed somewhere to stop for lunch before getting into Denver, and all of the online restaurant reviews said that the Mill Stop Cafe was THE place to try in Pueblo. We are so glad we did! Don't be fooled by the very modest exterior--inside, you will find some of the friendliest people and most soul-filling food you've ever encountered. We were there during the lunch rush and even though there was a waitlist for tables, we were seated within five minutes. Our server was wonderful and brought our stuffed sopapillas and chile relleno to the table quickly--both were incredible and exactly the kind of home-cooking we were craving. We were about to order the fresh sopapillas with honey for dessert but then found out--to our obvious delight--that they came free with the meal as the dessert. They were perfect--perfectly fried and delicious even without the added sweetness of the honey! We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces!
I'm so glad they are open for indoor dining again.. this is my 1st time back since opening dining room in October because I was out of town awhile.. my daughter treated me for a missed Holiday since I was gone.. it was so very good as usual.. ?
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Pueblo! The staff are always friendly and the food is always delicious. The staff are accommodating with dietary restrictions. The seating could probably use some updates, the booths and swivel chairs at the counter aren't the most comfortable, but it's not too big of a deal. This place is a Pueblo favorite!
It was a very busy casual café with very friendly, helpful staff. We saw that "The Slopper" would be too much for each of us to eat alone and told our waitress our dilemma and she offered to half it for $1.50 extra so that is what we did. We found the chili a little too mild for our taste but we have heard great things about their breakfasts so have decided to return when we are back in town to try that. Almost forgot, they had a wonderful sopapilla that was served to us free at the end of our meal, a nice final touch, that was really good! I would go back for the sopapillas alone it was so good!!

The food is delicious! If you like red chili it's undercooked tastes like the flour was not browned enough. It has the strong taste of flour! But everything else is soooo wonderful and the staff is 5 star!
Friendly staff. Tasty food. Quick service. Great price.

This is a Pueblo favorite with a very loyal following. The food is very plain Mexican food Colorado style. Not real tasty but very wholesome and filling. I’ll eat there again.
I must start by saying that the service here was really good for take-out and the way they bagged the food with extra support on the bottom was great. The food was decent but could definitely be better for the cost especially considering that Mexican food can be very cheap to make and we live in a town with lots of Mexican food. I will definitely try again but am a bit disappointed after having heard and read so many great reviews.
