I ordered a 14” pizza at 11:34. So store just opened. It said delivery at 12:50. I said ok, I get it, low staff maybe, other issues, I am not in a hurry. At 1:15 I called the place and a guy told me he will be there shortly. At 1:50 the pizza showed up. The bottom of the box felt like it sat in water overnight. So I quickly checked the pizza. It was nasty. The crust was like bread soaked in water, like hot dog buns soaked in water during a hot dog eating contest. Complete mush and gross. Very cold. I felt bad but I called the delivery guy back and returned my food to him. Not good at all.
The waitress seemed very young and inexperienced, not customer friendly at all. I asked for an item to be left out of my dish as I am allergic to it. Instead after another 35 minutes my dinner arrived with the item I asked to be left out. We went there for our anniversary and wanted to sit near the river. Even that was a nightmare. The restaurant was busy but not packed and the waiter insisted we could not have that table as it was for a larger group. I insisted and then after that our experience went down the drain. Also, the replacement dish my husband ordered was dry and had no flavor. My salmon was very good except I had to send it back as I asked for no cheese and it was all over it.
Angelo's location is perfect, it's right along the beautiful river walk. The food was delicious, I had the calzone. Our server Robert K. was absolutely wonderful! He was positive, patient and very attentive. We must have enjoyed two hours at our table - with no rush. It's so delightful to have such a great server, in such a nice sunny location. Thanks Robert!
For location, this pizza joint deserves top marks. It's right on the wonderful river walk and has a large patio as well as a full bar and multiple inside tables, but I can't figure out why the reviews are so positive about the food. Our pizza was fair, at best. We had a dinner salad each which was fresh and shared a 14" pizza--The Big Apple. It was short on green peppers and mushrooms, but had an oversupply of black olives. Ugh--the dough wasn't great either. Service was terrible! Our server explained at the end that the kitchen had been flooded with to-go orders and got very backed up. Our poor waiter had what appeared to be too many tables. I'm sure covid was to blame, but I wouldn't go back! Why not empower your waiter to offer a free dessert when you can't deliver food in a timely manner? Even the wine took forever!
We sat ouside overlooking the river walk. Service was good. The salad was crisp and tasty. My husband had Veggie zitti and I had the spinach lasagna. They were both inedible-- My lasagna was 70% thick greasy cheese. And the ziti had tons of thick cheese on top. We had to pick through the cheese to find the food.
This place is very good and I would recommend getting it and my aunt Marysa works there
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! As bad as the reviews said it is, expect much worse!!!! Absolutely awful and they don’t seem to care.
We really loved this place!! We had 2 10 inch pizzas , Musso Farms & the Big Apple We also had some Brooklyn rolls with pepperoni. We left with still 1 piece. Definitely a place to return to and try the lunch specials.
Went with my family almost 1 hours waiting for my dinner. Finally at the table over cook chicken, dry pasta cheese hard as rock. Server was missing in action,, Manager came to the table with the worse of the attitude. If I can gave you and advice don't go there -10
Stopped for lunch and asked to be seated outside in shade. At least 4 tables were available in shade (needed cleaned off) while many additional tables were in direct sun. Hostess did not seem to care or make any effort to accommodate request. No effort made to clean off tables in shade, insisted on sitting us in sun. (We are in are mid 60's.......train your people about courtesy and possible health risks of heat stoke!!!!!!
