Really good coffee and delicious, fresh pastries made right in store. Maybe the best coffee I had in PV, for sure the best pastry. The raspberry scone was sooo good.
Love our walks to the pier and getting morning coffee. Dee’s has not only wonderful coffee but homemade pastries that are wonderful.
Busy spot every morning with real good baked goods and coffee. Stop by, sit back and enjoy the start to your day in this magical town.
Have been regular patrons of Dee’s for many years on our annual trip to PV. About 12:30 today, purchased coffee and muffin for 92 pesos for which I handed over a 200 peso bill and 2 pesos in coins. Unsmiling cashier returned 10 peso coin in change and turned away. When I insisted that I was owed another 100 pesos, she handed it over without comment (and still without a smile or even a glance in my direction). An “honest” mistake?…Perhaps. Other reviews suggest that our experience was not unique. Disappointing for a business we have come to appreciate (until now). Count your change. P.S. Coffee and muffin were good.
We have been coming to Dee’s for years. Coffee and baked goods are very good. However the tables are too large, often one person sitting, coffee finished but obviously oblivious to others waiting to sit. Or the lone occupant who is on his laptop because he doesn’t have Wi-Fi at his flat, So, we head over to Starbucks where there are an abundance of small round tables for two. The last 3 attempts to find seating at Dee’s each ended in frustration. We certainly don’t mind waiting until people vacate seats but our patience, sitting on the bench across the way finally gives way to annoyance at the patrons who could care less that others are looking to sit. There are more and more good coffee spots opening up so we encourage Dee to pay attention,
For a little respite from the hot sun and walking, this is a nice shaded and breezy location to sit outside, people watch, relax, enjoy a coffee and pastry. It took just a little waiting to get a table as there are only 5 or so tables outside and there were just one person at each table wasting time. Most did not even buy anything while sitting and looking at their phones. The managment did nothing to discourage people from doing this. Finally, one person felt guilty using a 4-person table by himself and gave it up for us. There were four of us. The wives held the table while us two guys went inside and ordered. I bought two coffees and a large piece of apple cinnamon cake. The cost should have been about 95 or so Pesos, instead I was charged about 175 Pesos. The problem was that I did not have enough Pesos, so I paid in US dollars. The lady gave me some change and I left since there was a long line waiting behind me. As I sat at the table, I realized I was shortchanged by quite a bit. They were so busy I did not go back and complain, instead chalked it up to experience. I would give a much higher rating if I hadn't felt cheated. I guess we made up for those that sat around occupying tables without buying anything.
During my week in PV I tried the delicious cinnamon roll, the apple and cinnamon cake and blueberry muffin which were all excellent and the Americano I had was very good too. I just think the whole experiences could be more customer friendly. It seems Dee herself almost relishes being unhelpful and rude to customers which whilst perhaps her thing and even a little amusing, is also unnecessary once the novelty wears off. Each to their own but worth mentioning. I do enjoy the theatrical yelling of “Rohhhhhl-ehhhhhhs” from one of Dee’s protégés to sound out to the whole neighbourhood that a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls have just left the oven and are available.
Dee is so sweet and makes amazing drinks. Breakfast burritos are also excellent! Love stopping here if I’m passing by.
Great selection of homemade baked goods, muffins, etc. The coffee is very good, and the staff is friendly, the owner is not so friendly.
We have been stopping in at Dee's for years but since buying a condo around the corner a few years ago it has become a key go-to spot for us. Dee's has many things going for it: Location (near the pier with outdoor seating). Free wifi. Excellent espresso based coffees. Fresh baking. We enjoy a muffin, scone, or cinnamon roll with a morning coffee, and we sometimes buy chocolate brownies (in the fridge - don't miss them) and cookies as takeaway treats. Made to order breakfast bagel sandwiches. Consistent friendly staff who know what they are doing. Good hours (7am - 9pm). Dees isn't the cheapest place in town but we appreciate the quality and it seems many others do as well, as it is always busy.
