Lively atmosphere, delicious and beautifully presented dishes, nice drink selection…and family friendly while still having a cool vibe!I had the roasted chicken with a lovely butter-based gravy. The drizzle of the balsamic reduction had enough acid to both cut through and balance the dish. I’m also a huge fan of vinegar and lemon, but you can avoid that drizzle if it’s not your favorite. The Brussels sprouts app were on the small side. Luckily we weren’t too hungry and our main dishes came out quickly after. My boyfriend got the steak (I don’t remember what the cut is) medium rare. It photographed nicely! He is a great steak grill master himself, so he enjoyed it but didn’t rave about it. I believe the beef was from a Colorado ranch. My parents both got the fish basket and loved it. Crispy, but not overly greasy. A thing of wonder! My boyfriend and I met my parents here, who traveled in from out of state. We live in Boulder, but they were staying in Windsor with my sister’s family. This was a nice short drive got them and a worthwhile trip for us.It was crowded and loud, just beware that soft-spoken people (like my dad) might have a hard time being heard across the table. It was at least 10 years since I’ve visited downtown Loveland. I graduated from CSU in Fort Collins, but hardly made it out to the restaurants. It’s awesome that Loveland is focused on small and independent businesses in their downtown development. I’ll be sure to check out more when I drive up north in the future.
We went here since our 'go to' place was full. I was pleasantly surprised. Good atmosphere and service. Cocktails were good, but you want to make sure it is going to be something you like, as some will be real bitter, smokey, ... We started with the burrata. It was good, and a nice plate to share. Could have used a little more balsamic. My wife had the margherita pizza, which she enjoyed. Mind you, there will be plenty of cheese on the pizza. I personally had the fish and chips which was made with ruby red trout, which was a first for me. I enjoyed it. The trout wasn't fishy at all and it was nice and crispy. Fish tasted a little dry and not too flaky. Not sure if that is because it is trout, but I think I prefer cod next time. We ended with a creme brulee, which was up to standard. I would give 5stars, however I felt it was overpriced for what it was. We spend $50pp
We waited to try Door 222 and we had a date night on a weekday. 10 minutes to see a waitress and almost left, wish we had. First we ordered mussels.. They tasted off right away.. sure enough we had 3 mussels in the appetizer that were horribly spoiled. Making it all taste like rotten shellfish and literally spit it out and we didn't eat it. The beef short rib was a "regular favorite". It was a little poor chunk of beef roast that tasted like boiled stew meat. It was tasteless and no salt/pepper on the table, the mash was subpar, asparagus tasted like the ocean it was so salty. The fried fish was good.. the 2lbs of small rock hard spuds with it we're unimpressive. Basically out of $100 meal (we tipped well) we only split the fish between us. The waitress asked if we wanted a box and if everything was alright, when we said ughh not really she just said ok and brought the bill. We paid, left and had to go buy edible food. Not sure if this is how Door 222 is but it was extremely disappointing! I've wasted $100 before but this was bad.
Love this place! They have amazing options for all people including vegans and vegetarians!Really good service and food! I would rate the food 10/10The only thing I experienced was the wait was a bit long, but this is a very popular restaurant.I do recommend for any people who are looking to try new stuff. This restaurant has specials and they are delicious.I hope this review helped you and you try this restaurant out!Have a great day :)
The kitchen takes pride in what they make and it shows. While the menu items are typical, it's carefully prepared. The portions aren't huge, but it means you can have three courses and enjoy them all. I love the patio, inside can get loud when they're busy. I appreciate that all the entrees except the pasta are gluten free. Door 222 is a favorite for "I definitely want a drink with dinner and to enjoy a calm night out." My parents both enjoy it, as well as my friends.
Service was excellent, food was excellent except for dessert. Had the chocolate torte which was dry and salty. Margarita was not worth the $$. Everything else was excellent. Was a little loud, but it was Saturday night in downtown Loveland which is busy. Overall we enjoyed our evening and will return, maybe not on a weekend night.
Disappointed in choosing this restaurant. The food was lacking on many levels. Our service was excellent, thus, making our visit not a complete failure. Examples of poor food preparation: Carpaccio with potato chips on top - seriously Salad - Beets were good but the salad as a whole was lacking Salmon, Trout - everything is flashed fried or something Potatoes in the fish & chips selection, not fingerlings as in menu, just not good It appears on the face that this is a place just for bar food and we went looking for a nice dinner experience for our last night in Colorado.
Great food...The bacon wrapped, almond stuffed dates was a unique and delicious appetizer. The Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and asparagus was also very delicious! Loved the location and ambiance.
They substituted pot roast for short ribs and charged the same amount. Pretty good food other than that.
As always, great food and service. Love the ambiance.
