Food - 3 Service - 3.5 Vibe - 3.5 Price - 3I was very excited for this place. Kind of fell flat with the price of what you got. One little piece of corn/potato was tossed in for 2 lbs of crawfish. Good flavor but overpriced.
I ordered the black mussels, crawfish, fresh clams, and steamed rice. The crawfish is the smallest I’ve ever seen at a seafood boil restaurant, and they were not tasty at all. The mussels taste over cooked and like it was freezer burned. Hard to explain. But not enjoyable at all. Clams were okay, so I ate those! What really turned me off was the amount of oil in the seafood boil. It’s way too much! I couldn’t even finish the food. It’s too oily. Too much oil. You can’t taste any seafood with that much oil. Sauce on the seafood was way too heavy, like a thick paste. I enjoyed my wine, water, and steamed rice though. My server was nice and I appreciated his customer service!
Such delicious food and great service!Tina was our server, she was very attentive and made some yummy recommendations. We ordered the scallops and clams with cajun garlic butter, and the sampler plate with all the fried seafood and cajun fries. Everything was flavorful and the fish was so fresh! We were visiting from California and will definitely return next time we visit Denver.
I went there because I was craving The Boiling Crab in LA . The yabby cajun shrimp was overcooked but seasoned well. They didn’t serve lemons with the food but provided it on the side. The cajun fries were seasoned well. The coleslaw was good . I was just wishing the shrimp was cooked less . It threw off the experience since it was hard to peel too. There prices are definitely cheaper than LA . Not bad for seafood . The staff was very nice and everything was clean .
This place is fantastic. I love the order by the pound/ picnic table theme. The shrimp/scallops/crawfish were all great. Brought my father to this places and became his favorite seafood spot.
7/10 for Cajun food. There market price is actual way high compared to true market price. But very fun environment nice ppl. Probably the best you will get for not being true deep LA Cajun food. Would eat there again but not for the ppl on a budget.
The food is a solid 4 but there's two things that really knocked it down.First, this is not a gluten free-friendly restaurant. I was surprised, because every cajun boil restaurant I've been to serves their boils of meat with butter and seasoning, maybe some corn and potatoes. It would have really helped to have an indicator of what seasonings and entrees were gluten free, OR, just state somewhere obvious that nothing is gluten free so people like me can avoid restaurants like this.FYI, the fries are flour battered. I suspected as much but had to ask the waitstaff to confirm it. When we got the boils, the waitstaff said there wasn't flour in them but it really looked like there was.Second, for $140 (includes tip) the two of us ended up at a second restaurant because I was still hungry (I don't eat sugar or gluten so 8-10oz of seafood wasn't going to cut it). I understand food costs are high and there's a labor shortage, so this pricing would have been fine but for the fact we ordered two snow crabs (at ~$26 each) and both were overcooked and stringy.TL;DR: okay food but surprisingly many items are not gluten free (like fries), and the food is overpriced for the way it is cooked
Our server was wonderful! She was friendly, helpful and attentive. Unfortunately the food wasn't so great. My gumbo was like water with a couple vegetables in it and a single shrimp. Whatever that was, it wasn't gumbo! We had razor clams and they were so overcooked it was like chewing rubber, and tons of sand. The small clams were better cooked, but not cleaned very well, sandy. The shrimp were rubber. The mussels were also overcooked and the majority were empty shells. The only saving grace was our waitress was amazing
UNDERRATED RESTAURAUNT, the restaurant has gut filled blue crabs, and is definitely worth it, i personally would say that the crawling crabs is the same as here, but this place most definitely has a great atmosphere, y’all should actually try it out.
Love Yabby Hut! Best seafood boil on the planet! Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the only place, biz or person I'd give 5 stars would me or mine!! ;)
