Ordered sushi using a GroupOn on a beautiful 80+ degree day and requested to sit outside and I believe the owner greeted me up front and was extremely rude, no customer service. I’ve never been to a restaurant where you can’t sit outside unless it’s upscale or luxury: it wasn’t busy it was barely 4:45 pm on a Monday with a light guest list. When my food was ready instead of handing it to me she just placed it on a chair ? I’mDefinitely taking my business elsewhere and customers can sense good/negative energy. Disappointing - the server was super kind though so shoutout to her for asking if I was helped. She should be the one to greet customers because she was kind.
Most of the sushi was good. Scallop smelled very fishy and didn’t seem very fresh. All the rest was good. They post closing at 9:30 but, despite being done at 9:30, they were angry about me being there til 9:30. Picking up chairs and trying off lights. Change hours to 9:00 if you don’t want late business.
Food: 5 stars. Service: 1. The sushi here was amazing, but it took an hour to get it. The three of us sat down at 5:30 and ordered 6 rolls and didn’t get anything until 6:40! No one seemed to be very concerned either - didn’t stop by to apologize for the wait or assure us it was on its way. We almost got up and left. When it arrived it was delicious but the staff really made the experience a bummer.
Edit: I'm updating my review three years later. Dine in or carry out Hana Matsuri never disappoints. We went in tonight with our (now all three) kids in tow. Wonderful service. Excellent flavor- I didn't have to drown my sushi in lots of ginger, soy or wasabi. GF options. Every single roll was tasty. The portions and prices are great. I am so happy this place survived the pandemic. If you're looking for tasty, quality sushi in Lakewood this is the place to go.Pretty darn close to the best sushi we have ever had. Our 4 year old and 9 month old approved of the sweet potatoe roll, Vegas roll, and big daddy roll. I think that says something. My cocktail was delicious. The service was wonderful. We were seated promptly even on a busy Saturday night. Our server was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. I think it's awesome they can create a sushi roll with quinoa instead of rice, if you prefer. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I'm sure we will be back.
Sushi is fresh and delicious. They prepare custom rolls and offer gluten free options. This restaurant delivers quality and value.
This location is excellent and I highly recommend coming here. There lunch options are delicious, the sesame chicken is superb. The sushi is incredible. The customer service is accommodating. Everything about this sushi spot is wonderful and you should come check this place out! I’ve been coming here for 5 years and have never had a bad experience. I love you guys!
We drive from Louisville to Lakewood to eat here. For me, that says tons. There isn’t better/fresher sushi around. This place has turned friends that hate sushi into sushi likers. They know what they’re doing in landlocked CO. They have a new location called Edo at Park Meadows that I’ll have to go to as well. Go to Hana Matsuri at Simms/Alameda for sushi. Period.
My second visit and it was just as good as the first.i shared a sea weed salad and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The miso soup warmed me up nicely for the sushi boat. We also had hot tea and drunken whale saki.
Moved to Lakewood from dt a few months ago and was still going downtown for sushi, until we found this spot! Very good sushi and great service. The spot is low key and had a good vibe.
