Always been a big fan of chuys! Recently moved from Austin for school and so happy to have a little taste of home nearby. Don't ever forget to get the creamy jalepeno sauce!
Delicious food and friendly staff. Try their boom boom sauce.
This restaurant is a solid 3 stars and not one bit more. I sat at the bar and ordered their "chuychanga" and requested no refried beans as a side. The plate arrived suspiciously quickly. The waitress warned me the plate was hot. What she didn't say, was that it was scorching hot. I've never experienced such a hot plate at any other restaurant in my life. The presentation of the dish was a little surprising. I had expected the sauce to cover the chimichanga, but in this case, it was puddled around it.Taste wise, it seems that Chuy's is worried about seasoning too much, and as such, all the food was disappointingly bland. It wasn't bad, but it could have been so much better.
The food was delicious, the service was hands down one of the best experiences! Ryan went above and beyond most server standards. I had the shrimp tacos and a margarita. I will definitely be going back!
I ordered online for take-out. My husband picked it up and when he got home we realized they forgot our queso. While I was annoyed, I realize things happen. I called to ask for a refund since the queso is $10. The girl that answered the phone put me on hold and said she'd connect me with a manager. She got back on the phone and took down my number because they were so busy. Five minutes before closing, I still hadn't heard back. So I called them again. The same girl answered and then connected me with I'm guessing the manager...another girl. I explained my situation and I was met with an incredibly abrasive and bit*** response about how "It was already taken care of and takes 48 hours to go through." I couldn't believe how rude this woman was. When she said this, I explained that nobody followed up with me, and asked how I would know that it was taken care of? She then threw the other employee under the bus and said "Oh, I told her to call you back. So I guess she didn't do her job." Then I just hung up. I was kind and respectful in all of my interactions from the start. Not once did either of them even say "Sorry about that." I've never left a bad Google review in my life by the way. Way to hire quality employees Chuy's.
How the mighty have fallen. I used to love Chuy’s, always one of my favorites. 5.30 on a Saturday, place was nearly empty, they tried to sit us at a dirty table, food was near inedible. Very sad. :-(
I really liked the interior decor, it had a lot of character and was fun. Was also impressed they had their own tortilla making station, you love to see it. The food was decent, but not incredible. We each got the combo fajitas and the beef fajitas. The thing that stood out to me were the refried beans, very tasty. The fajitas were pretty standard, basic. Free chips and salsa when you arrive, that's also a nice bonus.
Nice menu. Their salsa fresca had some kick, which I loved! Good service, good margarita. My daughter had the taco salad, and enjoyed it very much. I had the steak burrito with hatch green chile sauce. There was more chunks of fat in the meat than I expected, the meat was a bit tough, and the sauce was applied so sparingly I could barely taste it. I would select a different dish next time. But I would go back. Charming decor.
I'm not necessarily the type to go out of my way for TexMex, but attended my MIL's Birthday Dinner here a few days ago.The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and has fun decor and great layout. The service was very prompt and our server never let us run too low on chips and salsa (and a house style ranch that is also for the chips).Beer was cold, food was hot and the entrees for a party of 6 were well-timed. We all enjoyed our choices very much: enchiladas, flautas, a smothered burrito...I was impressed how tasty the veggie enchiladas were - a lot of times there's just too much cheese and very little inspiration behind vegetarian Mexican food dishes. So kudos there, too!Warning - the tres leched cake is SO GOOD, but HUGE!!!!We left well fed and happy!
I'm a little bias as i've lived in Austin and love the original Chuy's, but the staff here is so friendly! The food is good, covid hit the menu pretty hard, hoping they bring back the stuffed avocado dish sometime. Thin chips and great fresh salsa, and don't forget the jalapeno ranch, it goes good with Everything!
